I like how the recent acquisition of Intellivision by Atari helped bring this new early console rivalry section to life! This collection is so well put together. I enjoy watching the documentaries & seeing all the original print materials just as much as playing the games. The timeline format is so nice. It's just a shame that no licensed properties will ever make the collection, such as the classic Star Wars games.
Smells like Booty. Matt Booty.
@GamerRN the only example I can think of that you're referring to is Bungie with Destiny? Maybe a few others that were already in financial risk of closure?
Almost all the others were long nurtured studios that Sony help build up from their beginnings. Insomniac for instance is what it is today because of Sony's support from the early PS1 days from Spyro to Ratchet & Clank onward. (Or for me, the hidden gem Disruptor) Insomniac even gave Microsoft a chance w Sun...
It's like a kid that pays the smart kid in class to do his science fair project for him, then brags "Hey, look what I made! That's an A+ effort right there!"
Oh boy. I'm in disbelief that this story found enough approvals to be passed through.
Edit - Ah, it got just 1 in the final countdown. That's it, ban Kamper!! Jk 😉🙃
I have it and I have played it. The lighting here was way more advanced. The characters certainly look Switch. It's obvious that they learned some things from Metroid Prime Remastered and have pushed things a bit further. It's just surprising that they could actually make it any better, squeezing every last bit of power in the Switch
Yea, it must be acknowledged though that the Prime Remaster looked damn good for Nintendo's weak hardware.
There are some lighting things going on here that do feel improved over that one.
I'm really glad they included the OG sidescroller and not just the 3D ones.
I had a friend who was the one person I ever met w a 3DO. OG Gex was the game I most enjoyed on it, so as soon as it later released on PS1, I bought it day 1. Loved the different theme worlds that Gex travels through, throughout the series.
I just hope this collection has a CRT mode bc these old 3D games looked better on one.
I actually really loved the original SNES Bubsy. The rest of the series is pretty meh, but I'll pick this up on sale sometime for nostalgia's sake
Especially since the existing PC handhelds (Steam Deck, ROG Ally, etc) can already run Gamepass. I don't have a Steam Deck yet, but I did see Forza Horizon 5 already running pretty well on it natively, so I'd imagine most XBox exclusives on Steam would run pretty well too. The most Microsoft could do is try to brute force a more expensive, higher power handheld. I doubt it would do well if that were the case.
I actually remember a time when Christopher was accused of being an XBox fanboy.
Times change and a real fan of games in general will take notice when one of them has lost their way. What's more "fanboy" is when someone clings to a sinking ship in denial.
I thought team killing was the path to success? /s
@Daver yea, no worries.
I hope Sony gives everyone some Playstation Star points for all this inconvenience, like 1200 ($5 store credit)
Many of us wanted to cash out those points during these great Summer sales. I was going to use mine on the DLC that I just bought, but thankfully resubbing PS+ Premium allowed me to get it w no cash out of pocket instead on the Sony Rewards program.
If this is the original Switch, I can only imagine how good it will look on the Switch 2. You know if the game is launching in 2025, there will be both a Switch & Switch 2 version!
@swedishMeatwad Right? Because if they really felt uncomfortable, they should have at the very least been allowed to wear a bikini or underwear under their towel. If the Owner demands that they get the real experience to better know the Sauna world, they should at least be offered the protection from creepers trying to look up their towel. It's same exact experience if they were slightly covered underneath. Demanding that they be nude is too much, especially if he's insinuating that t...
That's a completely different program, that is Playstation Stars which operates right in the PS App.
Sony Rewards ran through credit cards, or just by making qualified Sony Store purchases. (Also stuff like movie ticket proof brought points)
I actually believe that was one of my first cashouts on the program! haha
I remember I had just gotten the PS4 and I used it on Black Flag or Battlefield 4 to go with it.
I'm pretty sure I remember it being Black Flag though! (Great choice, as it became my favorite AC of all time)
Well there was a large boost on any purchase made on PSN, so there was an incentive to use over other cards' rewards. It used to be better, then they lowered it. I forget the exact multiplier though.
I pretty much got this $10 DLC free this week just by resubbing my PS+ Premium. (On sale during Days of Play) Not a lot of other cards would give that much back
I've gotten so many free games throughout the years w this program, this sucks. I've been with it since the beginning.
I just run a majority of my needed purchases through it and pay it off immediately instead of using cash or debit. The most recent was on Tuesday I got a $10 dlc free. It was great as long you're not borrowing out large amounts of money that you don't have.
Wow, these games get pulled waay too soon. This is why I buy the complete editions on Steam out right instead of Gamepassing them. I can still play my Forza Horizon 3 (Australia still being my favorite location), and after this pull, I will still be able to play my Forza Horizon 4. For all you Gamepass folks, you better jump on it soon!
I only recently bought Forza Horizon 5 Complete a few months ago. I'm still yet to play it, but I'm glad I've got that secured...
