There also won't be many big pubs remaining to acquire either... just EA I guess.
@Christopher Yeah that definitely counts as public crying. I'd forgotten about the Destiny fragrance 'situation', but it's also not surprising, Xbox was hot garbage / a complete mess back in the early/first half of the XB1 generation. That plus I'd say Greenberg's marketing has been... questionable in the past.
I do think MS acted more respectable than Sony are now when Sony were acquiring Bungie though, at least publicly, they put up no childish sta...
That's a weird way to spell "Silent Hill" :P
All jokes aside, it's good that we're getting a remaster of these, but please Konami... pay some attention to MGS & SH.
I wonder if we'll see paid PSVR2 upgrades and/or remasters.
I guess the upgrades part depends on how much work it is to recompile the game w/ the new SDK, and does everything 'just work' or do you need substantial rewrites - my guess is you do need substantial rewrites or they would've just added back compat.
Lol I’d forgotten about that. That’s not really the same though - they were just working around the fact they weren’t allowed to advertise the game.
What Jim Ryan and Sony are doing right now just comes across as whining tbh.
I doubt they would “welcome” it but I also expect there would be substantially less whining going on.
It’s not like Destiny is a small game but MS didn’t cry - not publicly anyway.
(And yes, for now D2 remains on Xbox for the foreseeable - as will COD on PS)
"The final truth is, at the end of the day, this is all to prevent consumers (you) from getting a better deal with Xbox Game Pass. If that's what it boils down to in court, Sony may struggle to present that argument in a positive light."
Couldn't agree more. We as consumers will benefit from these games being on GP. And once the proper discussion & investigation begins, it will be hard for Sony to defend against giving consumers MORE options (and more ...
Hoping this game turns out well. I'd love a more minimalistic, back to its roots, AC entry.
According to Jim though, it isn't an AAA banger - the only AAA banger is Call of Duty.
Yes, best not to play when the facts are not in your favor :P
Nintendo is absolutely killing it on both the SW & HW front. 9 of the top 10 games are Switch. They also account for about 98% of HW sales. PS 1.5% and Xbox under 1%.
"At least it's not a Sony first party game, or people would be blaming them and making a big deal about it"
Sony got stick because Jim Ryan made a big deal about saying "we believe in generations" etc and then immediately turned around and launched everything on the last-gen console.
Had Capcom said they same, they would be getting the same level of stick.
And it's probably an even higher ratio than that if you include digital sales because the PS5 has a digital-only SKU which the PS4 never had.
Obviously it has nothing to do with AA batteries lol. PS controllers don't use AA batteries and PS is not selling well either in JP.
Also, removable batteries vs built in batteries is a personal preference.
I can see both sides, there's a lot of waste with AA batteries and its inconvenient (unless you have rechargeables), but at the same time, having to wait for my controller to recharge is annoying & longevity is an issue - I'm down to my...
I'd be surprised if it's locked behind PS+ or XBL Gold/GP. The previous RE2/3 ones were fully open as far as I recall.
Shadows of Rose looks awesome. I'll also replay Village in 3rd person. Both look great.
Oct 28th can't come soon enough.
RE4 timed demo incoming!
That argument makes no sense, it doesn't really matter which SKU of a console is sold. Consoles are sold at tiny margins or at a loss.
The key thing is getting people into your ecosystem, then you make up the $$$ in subscriptions and your 30% cut of software purchases.
I grabbed the update a few nights ago to try out - HUGE improvement. It is now a respectable remake of the original. 100% worth a revisit.
Also, huge kudos to the developer for actually revisiting and correcting all the issues & mistakes. Most devs just launch things and leave them as is when the feedback is as negative as it was about this game, I can't think of another game that has undergone such a huge rework like this post-launch.
