@LabRat Sadly he didn't. He regularly posts misinformation on here that GP is $1/mo.
So it's $1 right now? 3bn dollars revenue at 1 dollar a month is an insane number of subscribers.
Doing quick napkin math, that's $12 a year per subscriber, so that's 250m subscribers they have on GP today.
As a consumer, yes, increasing prices is screwing us. It was screwing us when Sony did it with games and the console, and it will be screwing us if/when Microsoft does it for their consoles and games too. Even worse is doing it during the current economic situation though.
Sony wouldn't go bankrupt if PS financials dropped, they didn't go bankrupt during the PS3 era either. Lets not pretend Sony are a small startup - they are a huge corporation that makes good money...
Nothing hypocritical in my comment at all.
Yep, and they confirmed GP is profitable today - it accounts for about 15% of Xbox revenue.

Personally I would put HL2 and MGS3 at 10/10. Those are examples of perfect games IMO.
They will obviously increase the price of games (and probably gamepass) at some point in the generation, yes. But the main thing is they aren't right now, and the prices are staying as is for the holiday season - not screwing consumers during an economic downturn is a good thing.
I think $20/mo would be my upper limit for GPU.
Impressive numbers. One thing I found interesting from the earnings is that almost 50% of Series S owners are new to Xbox.
To anyone who thought Series S is disappearing anytime soon - no chance. Too much of a new user funnel + priced perfectly for the current economic situation.
That will never happen - the licensing fees would be crazy high.
Not sure how they got to a 6 for this. Having completed the campaign, it was a pretty fun experience. More like an 8.5-9 for me.
Nice, F4 was good and a free next-gen upgrade is always welcome.
I remember being blown away by the AI when playing the Japanese demo.
The fact that they would call for backup realistically with options for you to intervene by breaking radios etc and that they would properly act like a squad and search and clear rooms etc felt like a huge leap forward in AI at the time.
Only because they copy pasted Leon’s hair onto James.
Are they though? Let’s look at what we’ve got:
- An SH2 remake that already looks off from a company who is likely to screw it up
- A few SH new game announcements with no real details, again with weird developer choices
- A new movie and some kind of live twitch game event
- MGS and Castlevania still completely MIA
Hard to say they’re back, and seeing other articles floating around comparing them to Capcom is comical.
It’s coming to PC too, but realistically the thing that’ll be holding it back will be Bloober Team.
I was pleasantly surprised by the length. I got to the oil rig level from the trailers after playing for a while and felt like I was near the end - but still had a long ways to go.
Great game overall. Can’t wait for the coop and MP to unlock.
XSS has an SSD - so shouldn’t have the same issues as PS4 and XB1.
And they don't need to be. It is disappointing to hear WaPo saying this game isn't as big of a leap as HFW though and is full of PS4 'squeeze through the wall while we load things in' points.
But either way, more of GoW 2018 is fine.
I've submitted my views on why this is good for consumers and why it should pass.
Not that I genuinely believe anyone from the government is going to read things submitted to this email address - I suspect this is all just theatre before this M&A gets approved.
@Hofstader I meant exactly what I said - they did not go bankrupt during the PS3, because they are a big corporation with their finger in many pots. To make out that Sony is some small startup that only has revenue from PS is laughable.
