It's quite clearly a Silent Hill and MGS crossover.

It’s a drop in the ocean if developers didn’t even notice it changed and were indifferent to it changing.

That is Unity devs themselves saying that. They even say they already had Pro access anyway.

And if you can’t afford the $1800 license fee how are you ever going to afford dev kits?

It would’ve been nice to be able to finish the trilogy in remastered form but at the same time, I’m not super surprised - by the time 3 came around they’d milked MW to death and it was the weakest of the 3 by far.

So the TLDR is that external/off-the-shelf is faster than internal/custom.

Huh? What does this have to do with Sony? It's Unity who are being greedy here by changing their licensing terms to get more $$$.

Also more anti-developer than anti-consumer.

I'm going to hell for that dad joke :P

"Unity’s changes here aren’t exactly sweeping, since many developers working on the platform already pay for Unity Pro or have access to Preferred Platform License Keys. Some developers Gamasutra spoke with didn’t even notice the change took place, or expressed indifference about how it would affect their future projects."

So a nothingburger really - and $1800 is really a drop in the ocean when it comes to game development... heck a dev kit will set you back $2.5-...

That is a pretty epic bug!

Seriously, they expect credit for their historic handling of this?

Still waiting on that source showing PS+ numbers being higher than XBL Gold and GamePass combined.

It's fine though - we all make mistakes - you should just own it :)

@uppityyak

I don't have to provide any extra sources beyond the one I just did, you are the one claiming PS+ outnumbers XBL Gold and Game Pass subs combined - what is YOUR source?

It feels unlikely that XBL gold subs have dropped from 48 mil to < 28 mil in the last few years - which is where it would have to be for your statement to be true.

"Because for years Microsoft included Silver subscribers when they talked about numb...

"And yet PS+ still has more subs than game pass and live gold combined."

Source? The math doesn't add up:

- PS+ = ~46 million subs (this week)
- Xbox Live Gold = ~48 million subs (2016*)
- Xbox Game Pass = ~18 million subs (Jan 2021)

Even if you add in PSNow with its 3.2 mil subs, Xbox still has more subs.

*(NB: This was from 2016, and Xbox was arguably weaker then than it is today beca...

Game Pass can help games like this gain visibility and popularity. Multiple of my friends bought it simply because I was playing (on Game Pass) and they wanted to join in.

Would I have jumped in at a $30 price point off the bat? Probably not at the time, but now I've played it, it's worth it.

Actions speak louder than words. Let's revisit this in a few months and see if there is actual change.
There is no space for this kind of garbage in the industry.

"Totoki-san mentioned the fact that MLB The Show 21 was sold on platforms other than PlayStation, following the “Initial success” seen by Horizon Zero Dawn and Days Gone on PC.

Totoki-san also mentioned the acquisition of Nixxes, which has “excellent technology for porting game software between different platforms such as PC.” Sony expects that “Nixxes will offer technological support to all of its studios in a horizontal manner.”

Glad to see all of the big 3 doing well - the games industry is going strong!

The next-gen consoles haven't even been out a year and we're still in a pandemic & chip shortage. Even in 'normal times' talking about this so soon would be too early.

Time to avoid the internet for a few months.

This is looking great - still blows my mind that we're getting this day 1 on Game Pass.
