MSFS has always been heavily CPU bound. They're using a 9700K that boosts up to 5GHz.... that's a lot more capable than any current games console.

Anyway, it's impressive that they got this game running on a console at all, never mind this well.

What other way around? We typically don’t approve articles on here with unreliable Twitter accounts as the source.

Well, what else would they say? Hardly going to bash your own product.

The game was good but I wouldn’t call it a mega hit. Mega hits are things like UC and TLOU.

This is a cherry picked moment by a fanboy Twitter account. Notice how he didn’t link the actual video… where they say nothing of the sort… in fact quite the opposite.

https://m.youtube.com/watch...

“PS5 in performance mode can occasionally experience frame pacing issues. The frame pacing issues can make the game look like it is briefly dropping to 30fps because every other frame rendered ...

He is correct - although I would caveat it with the fact SoT had a big update and Returnal didn’t.

Still, it’s impressive SoT is even in the top 20 given that it’s over 3 years old and is in game pass.

The game is also currently in both the Xbox ultimate games sale and PlayStation summer sale for $14.

The game is definitely worth checking out if you haven’t played through it yet! (And are lucky enough to own a next gen console)

Yeah… if it’s still rubbish after this long and a delay - it’s beyond saving and I’m out.

I remain hopeful that the last year and staffing changes will make it better though!

Amazon don't bring anything to PS. PS is fine and quite frankly, better without them.

If anything, PS/Sony not being a big tech corporation like Amazon/MS is a plus, it helps them be more creative. MS and Amazon are no where near as creative or willing to take risks IMO.

No place for this in the industry - fire everyone involved, flush out leadership if necessary.

Sadly, that probably won't happen and this issue will still exist for years to come.

@NeoGamer232

"Even Sony and Microsoft have partnerships where it makes sense."

Exactly. They're even partnered to run PS's online infrastructure via Azure...

But those partnerships only make sense to logical people and people focused on business/making money, they will never make sense to fanboys who think game companies are mortal enemies and can never work together or its disrespectful to their customers!

Imagine hoping for Amazon to join up with Sony... no. Just no.

The only thing I can imagine that would be worse would be PS partnering with or being acquired by Tencent...

Hell yes. Hype.

Great! I can't wait to try this out - it's going to be huge!

@justsomeoffdude I’m not cherry picking any comments - I’m simply referencing the content of the article you shared and apparently failed to read 🤦‍♂️

So you’re saying Death Loop is the first game using Kraken correctly? I highly doubt that, many games have shipped with Kraken…

So where’s your proof that this patch decreasing the size is down to any Oodle product? Has the dev or Sony said anything? Can you link the source?

This is a great little bundle if you haven't picked any of them up yet - highly recommend them all!

@justsomeoffdude @mkis007

Again, incorrect. Your own linked article states otherwise:

"Since then, Sony has licensed our new technology Oodle Texture for all games on the PS4 and PS5."

Article was written: September 24, 2020

And a later comment by the author on Nov 7, 2020:

"PS5 is the only system with a hardware Kraken decoder, and the only platform with platform-wide license to Oodl...

@hectorius That's cute that you tried to come here and debate, but your facts are fatally flawed.

"The base game is PS 4 kid so would be using the PS 4s"

I stopped reading at this point - Deathloop is not on PS4. ( https://www.playstation.com... ).

My statement still stands true: There is zero proof that this file size reduction is down to an...

@boundless Games don't win GOTY for using an SSD or technology - they win it based on how fun the gameplay is and how epic the story is. I enjoyed Ratchet and I will enjoy Psychonauts also.

Ghost expansion will be good - hoping the rumors of it being long are true. Kena I'm not sure will even come out, we've barely heard anything and it's supposedly out in 1mo.

But Kena and Ghost were designed for last gen - doesn't that make them bad ...

1699d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Nintendo exclusives, not much else to say really.

@boundless Still sounds like a you problem, quorum seems to be that the game is a blast to play - and it seems likely the reviews/metacritic will follow in the same direction.

Heck, I recently replayed Psychonauts 1 and had more fun than I've had with any modern/recent platformer - even Crash, and I'm a huge Crash fan.

Since when was 'being designed for last-gen' a negative? Lots of games I've had a blast with on my PS5 are 'design...
