I guess I'll give this a go then, the reviews are surprisingly high.
MS studios are really hitting it out the park lately - Zenimax, DF, etc are proving to be a good purchase.
But your recent comments suggest you own a Series X and subscribe to GamePass - does that not count as supporting MS?
I’ll give it a try for sure, because there’s not a ton of games to play right now.
But I do agree with the sentiments from others that we’ve had too much of this game shoved down our throats at every chance possible and it feels like we’ve already been playing it for a year.
A looter shooter by Arkane? Sounds great!
@Knushwood You’d still only be able to hack cars that other players can unlock too.
If you could hack unachievable cars with fake stats offline and take them online, that would mean vehicle performance data is in the save game - if PD are doing that then they must be amateur 🤷
Rule number one of network programming is never trust the client.
Plus what kind of cheats are we talking about? As far as I’m aware the PS5 and all recen...
And that’s fine if you have internet, but if you didn’t, you’d expect the single player experience to still function.
This game was a spectacular playthrough - best game this year so far for me.
I think they did a really good job of making a sequel that feels fresh without breaking/ruining the formula.
Most of what you just wrote is wrong…
- You can sign in to the console on PS, Switch and Xbox without internet, just not sign into PSN/NO/XBL
- Most games can be run with the on disk content / without updates if you have no internet. This is actually a requirement on PS and Xbox platforms for developers, your title cannot be unplayable without a day 1 patch. If for some reason you do need that, you need to go through an exception process which the platfor...
Right... but the most you can do is unlock the best cars... there's no cheating in terms of getting something others cannot obtain.
That isn't enough to warrant an always online singleplayer gamemode.
What has this got to do with cheaters? This isn't an anti-cheat measure. And even if it was, why would you care if someone else cheats in a single player experience?
As for why would people disconnect from the internet... outages - Comcast here in the US have terrible up time. Others also might travel with their console (I know I do when travelling for work). I expect my single player games to still function.
And what happens when Sony inevitably kil...
@Magog @CaptainHenry What's wrong with games coming to last gen?
Do you limit yourself to next-gen exclusives? So you've skipped/are skipping on:
- Psychonauts 2
- SM Miles Morales
- Sackboy
- Horizon Forbidden West
- Gran Turismo 7
- GOW Ragnarok
- Kena
- Guardians of the Galaxy
- Elden Ring
- AC Valhalla
- Halo
- Forza Horizon 5
- Many mor...
True - although I wouldn’t have wanted either of them to be mandatory / pack in. They are niche and really, not why I bought a PS3 and 360.
XB1 Kinect pack in was a terrible idea too.
I had one and beyond the initial “wow this is cool” hour after unboxing it, it basically sat in a cupboard gathering dust.
It wasn’t that fun or revolutionary really when we already had the wiimote, Kinect was more interesting from a technology standpoint but ultimately, the only good motion games were on Wii - not Xbox or PS.
“You can pretend that you had a move”
I love this crazy idea that if someone has something bad to say about hardware/software - they must be lying about owning it and clearly do not own it!
Because all hardware and software has a 100% approval rating from all purchasers…
They had a decent summer, still a few heavy hitters landing this year.
They need to work on console availability though - it’s too hard to find (I realize this is a selfish statement during the pandemic but yeah…)
Since when is a look back at the summer on a platform “giving it sympathy”?
They had a good summer, especially for game pass, still a few good games to come out.
It’s that simple, no sympathy required.
I have multiple PS5’s so can happily play this if I want to - but comics aren’t really my thing.
But why is wolverine such a big deal? There’s plenty of people who don’t really care about the Marvel universe or comic books at all.
There are much bigger “must play” games on PS.
How elitist, so people who play on Switch PC or Xbox aren’t real gamers?
Perhaps they would consider you not a real gamer 🤷
Paid exclusivity deals typically include clauses that stop the paying company (Sony in this case) being screwed over on platform desirability due to pricing.
The contract likely blocks scenarios like Zenimax turning around and giving it away for free/near free, in subscriptions or heavily discounting other platforms etc.
