So the highest rated PS4 game is a PS3 port?
It only has 4 reviews anyway so I'd take that score with a grain of salt. Flower is a great title but as far as I can tell the PS4 version is unchanged aside from the resolution and framerate increase.
Still, it would be nice if they ported Journey and The Unfinished swan to PS4 as well.
For comparison's sake 17W Intel Core i5/i7 chips score 120-140ms on Sunspider running IE11 on Windows 8.1.
Obviously the PS4 / Xbox One won't be able to compete in a browser benchmark with Ivy Bridge or Haswell (since browsers aren't going to be that heavily threaded, and per clock a Core i5 is still much faster) but the Microsoft results are still very surprising.
That's not what this means at all, Intel's Turbo Boost and AMD's Turbo Core technologies simply allow power to be distributed in different ways. Applications that are not heavily multi-threaded can benefit as the chip diverts power from idle cores to active cores, allowing the clock speed and voltage to be increased.
The latest AMD PC APUs even allow the GPU's frequency to be increased / decreased based on the amount of thermal overhead available, so extra pow...
RDR is only on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
In Mafia II you had to refuel your car but the frequency with which you had to do it was so rare that it was not an issue.
But they are not higher performance, they're slower than class 10 SD/MicroSD cards. They get blown away by UHS-1 SD cards, and they're also larger than MicroSD cards, you know the standard used by most Android smart phones?
Right, it's slower than most 32GB microSD cards, and all 64GB cards.

Sony did the same thing with the original PSP. The first model had 32MB of RAM, while the PSP 2000, 3000, and Go had 64MB of RAM. It is one of the reasons the original doesn't support Skype. Games were still only allowed to use 32MB of RAM to ensure all PSPs could play the same game.
Speedtree has been used in PS3 and 360 games for most of the generation. Their claim that the PS4 will eliminate LOD is hilarious, people probably claimed the same thing about the PS3 and 360 but then realized they'd rather not have all of their assets look like they belong in a PS2 game. There was some pretty obvious LOD in the Infamous PS4 gameplay trailer anyway.
They're actually very easy to find on ebay. I own one and it's a decent system if you like shmups. I also own a Jaguar although there's only a few good games like Doom, Rayman, and Tempest 2000.
Why those two numbers would be added together makes no sense.
The 2.7GHz frequency is probably the maximum clock speed using AMD's Turbocore functionality, in which case half of the cores need to basically be disabled to run at that speed.
There's a decent chance that the Xbox One HDMI input will introduce a decent amount of input lag so you wouldn't want to play games with it anyway. If you hook up a PS3 or 360 to a Google TV you'll experience game-ruining input lag, because these devices are meant for passive experiences, not active ones.
I never said firmware updates are driver updates, and the reason Sony and Microsoft can't just update drivers on a monthly basis is that they have to worry about compatibility with previous titles. AMD and Nvidia might not give a shit if they break a graphical effect in a game that is 3 years old, but Sony and Microsoft do.
Plus on consoles they don't use the bloated APIs we have on PCs anyway so it's not like driver updates would improve performance anyway.
The 7970 does not use embedded SRAM at all though, it uses GDDR5 just like the PS3, the difference being it runs at a higher clock speed and is connected to a faster memory interface, giving it more bandwidth than the eSRAM and even the Xbox 360 eDRAM (which yes by the way is actually faster than what's in the Xbox One).
They are not the same as their PC counterparts and any updates are done by MS/Sony.
because there's only 32MB of it
The difference was the PS3 offered more to consumers than the Xbox 360 did, or at least it did in theory thanks to Blu-ray, built in WiFi, standard HDD, etc.
Well there's one part later in the game where it's directly mentioned but some people think it should be even more prevalent. I'm sure the fear of rape would be a very real thing for women in children in a post-apocalyptic world, but it's a video game, Naughty Dog is already pushing the envelope with this game as it is. If something as taboo as sexuality and rape in video games was included god knows the media shitstorm there would be.
Absolutely phenomenal game, can't wait to play Naughty Dog's next release.
I've heard some people complain about the fact that rape isn't mentioned more in the game but can you imagine the outcry there would be?
Unfortunately HDMI 1.4 does not support 1080p 3D at 60Hz, but is instead limited to 24Hz currently. If you want to play at 60Hz in 3D you're limited to 720p currently when using HDMI.
Sony and Microsoft were eager to release their consoles this holiday season, and as a result did not get the benefit of HDMI 2.0 which is expected to release soon and will support 4K at 60Hz as well as 1080p 3D at 60Hz.
In fairness to both of them, no TV on the market curre...
