It's crazy how we got game play footage like two years ago of this game yet nothing since. Makes me wonder if it underwent major and extreme changes?
I thought Bioshock Infinite and Wolfenstein 2 were mediocre far away departures from their predecessors, at best. See? We all like and dislike different things.
Hard for Westerners? Japan has a forest nicknamed "SUICIDE FOREST"...the Japanese hurt themselves.
"Our products are the best and can't be beat!" - Every CEO Ever.
Over $160,000,000 worth of people care. It keeps growing. More people are caring.
You apparently don't care.
What about the ever evolving and growing bigger 3.0 Alpha? All the stuff before 3.0? Not like you can't do anything with the game now...
Is $2200 Brazilian money or US money? Exchange rates show $2200 Reals as being only $680 US Dollars.
That's crazy. Sounds more financially viable to sneak them in from the US or something. Would definitely be cheaper!
Can the IP be redeemed? I hadn't realized it had really lost any popularity. Alien Isolation showed that with GOOD games the IP is still more than strong enough in several areas. Human and cyborg characters, Xenomorphs and Predators, interesting story lines, great art direction and style (love the retro-interstellar stuff!), space travel and planetary exploration...plenty of checkmarks for great games.
"it was sold as a gung-ho "ooh-ra!" type military game"
I certainly don't remember them advertising it as some deep storied game. I remember them talking about the sand tech and how you could change the environment but outside that it was all run and gun.
I can't remember why I played it...might have been bored and wanted something different (edit: it was Nolan North voicing the main character and my love of Uncharted that drew...
I didn't think game play was horrible but I also played it soon-ish after it came out or so? Might have just been a "fresher" experience then. Also, even though I enjoyed the game and finished it I'd be lying if I said it wasn't the story that mainly kept me going. Not bad in execution but definitely a more mediocre cover shooter.
This blasts Ethan Carter away. I think this looks INCREDIBLE, nearly unbelievable. Even looks better than the forest test scenes from the Snowdrop engine.
Games like this and The Division will transcend time in the graphical department. Sure, in 20 years games will look WAY better running at 12K and 200fps in VR, however, The Division and Unity (perhaps only in still screenshots) will still look "realistic".
Look, if graphics have gotten to the point where it's hard to tell the difference between a screen shot of The Division and a picture of New York City we've certainly hit some kind of milestone with comp...
Don't really care for the new model and I also find it a bit lazy that they're using the same animations since the FIRST Soul Calibur 16 years ago...
Well DCS has supported VR for a while as far as looking around goes. They have non-working virtual hands to interact with stuff but they've had them for over a year now and have yet to make them function properly. Maybe this fixes them?
This is the kind of stuff I'd wish AMD would focus on. Their hardware isn't bad at all and their drivers, as far as stability and game fixes go, are way better than they use to be (better than Nvidia for a bit actually). Tt's their exclusive features that are severely lacking. No GameStream, no Physx or actively used API's, just now getting native screen capturing, lack of custom graphics options (PCSS/HFTS/HBAO+), ability to add SSAO to older Unreal Engine games (go try Biosh...
My issue with 4K as well is that, while I enjoy it and it does looks great, 1080p isn't that bad still. 1440p looks great and is a nice middle road as well.
Sad to think what some of the games running 4K and/or 4K checkerboarded could do if they ran at 1080p. Most would probably do 60fps or we could have more advanced physics and particles and what not.
I just know that 4K eats up a lot more system resources than I think most people realize. I know i...
I'm sorry but what a stupid comment. Piracy in no way killed the Dreamcast...slowed down development and support towards the Dreamcast and the Playstation 2 is what killed the Dreamcast.
To sit here and even ASK if the PS3 was ever hacked just shows how little, if at all, you know of what you're talking about.
Is it? Thought the main game was mediocre, at best, and a far cry from The New Order. Haven't been impressed so far at all.
