I think a more relevant question is how did the PS2 version sell?

Sadly, there are counter stories of parents storming into retail stores angry that workers refused to sell a violent game to their child. I've seen it happen.
Yup. When my parents would tell me I couldn't do or see something, it would anger me to no ends in my adolescent years.
But now, as an adult, I look back at them with love and admiration for being steadfast in raising me a certain way. I can only hope that I do as good a job with my kids as they did with me.

I'm 35 and I've played video games all my life. I, too, don't believe video games make people violent. However, parents have a duty to...parent.
I have two children, my oldest being a 4th grader. Just as I would never let her watch a graphically violent or sexually explicit R rated movie, I will not let her play or watch me play GTA V. She knows the difference between real and fake, but there is still material in the game that I know is not appropriate for her...

So the first 180, plus this 180 = a 360...which is exactly what this system is function wise...a beefed up Xbox 360.

I've heard on plenty of podcasts that Twin Snakes is up there with the first Metal Gear Solid as people's favorite MG game.
There are people who don't like it, but it is far from unpopular.
So it did sell well. Unless it was below what they expected. Hopefully the critical and sales bust of the rebirth makes them realize why people love Resident Evil.
