Any average person will see it as a direct copy of the Wii, im sorry but thats a fact. Casuals don't care for accuracy so only the diehard sony crew will buy Move and trust me thats not enough for it to succeed.
The guys above are right there are tons of videos of kinect on you tube now thanks to MS letting the public get a hold of it. I guess the reason most of those haven't been posted is cause they show kinect working correctly but I guess that wouldn't be news on N4G.
Off topic a bit. MS stores looks just like Apple stores, the assistants even wear the same clothes and tags lol.
Edit: People should seriously check you tube to see Kinect, some real good f...
That deal for 40% off must have helped to get a lot of people get kinected.
But mostly every retailer selling Kinect has it in the charts and it still got months before release and the ad campaign starts.
@MariaHelFutura
It wasn't for Kinect specifically I believe it was for ALL accessories and worked with Kinect.
Reach is a beast, and two Kinect games already in the chart is a good sign for Kinects success.
Not surprised.
1. He doesn't even have the Move dev kit.
2. Using Move will definitely be a different experience to using Kinect and that experience could be something he doesn't want for Child of Eden.
Edit for below:
LOL you guys are unbelievable seriously.
@mrv321
Just please stop. I never said CoE didn't have Kinect tacked on, what I said is 99% of the Kinect games are built from the ground ...
Why does everyone say Kinect its $150?
Its $299 for 2 players Vs $199 for Wii (+$99 if you include Wii Fit) Vs $399 for Move. The success of Kinect all comes down to advertising, thats what made the DS big, the Wii big, Halo big, MW2 big. Hype and advertising is enough to make it succeed and MS got lots of it.
If you think Kinect will flop then Move has no chance in hell bringing in the casuals.
@Chromer
So you are trying to tell me t...
I will get the one which actually has games made from the ground up for the device, not just tacked onto games which work better with a normal controller.
Wow people disagreeing with the facts, sad.
The worst part is they all say they will buy Move when you know for a fact they won't.
Im certainly won't be complaining about a portable version of Zelda:OoT, at least the games they are porting are the best of the best.
The reason there are probably so many of them is cause devs haven't had a lot of time to make new games since they probably only just got the dev kits and ports a quicker to make, but in the future you can bet there will be a lot of new IPs and sequels from the DS era.
Why was no one smiling? Aren't motion controls supposed to be fun?
That magazine woman looked like she didn't even want to be there lol.
I will say again why oh why would you choose to use Move over a regular controller for games like Killzone/Socom etc. Kinect is getting better support from 3rd parties than you actually think, they are making FULL games for Kinect rather than just tacking on motion tech to current game. The fact they are willing to take that risk shows they believe Kinect will succeed. What 3rd party dev, or first party dev even, has made a game which supports Move and Move only? Next to none. Why you ask? Ca...
Think this will be my upgrade to the 360S, considering how cheap it is in the UK (for once).
Edit:
Actually I dont have a 360S i still have my launch 20GB 360 which i will be selling on ebay to a new buyer.
"but the thing that sold it for me was how much spin i could put on the ball. By lunging forward and following through, I was spinning like crazy and knocked down strike after strike. It felt amazing."
So someone finally worked out how the spin works. And of course more people having "fun", they may not be hardcore games but at least they let you enjoy yourself and thats what really matters.
360 is fine, it doesn't even need Kinect to be successful. But if Kinect is successful then Wii best watch out......
Sony's only weapon against MS is lying, they gotta hype bluray since thats all they have.
"For sure buying this. I loved it and know my 4 year old and 3 year old will love it. I only got to try the games, not counting the video and voice control/recognition. Well worth it to me, and that is coming from someone that makes about $30,000 a year. I’m not rich and I am getting it - Game $60 + Kinect $90 = $150. So worth it!"
More positive hands-on (or hands-off) with kinect. The thing with the lag too is even after the launch it can still be improved since it...
That logic fails actually.
So many devs are making games specially for Kinect that they had to miss the launch window. Also anything that is new, like a console launch always have low numbers yet games still get made for them, and there is good reason for that. When something new launches there are few games for it so the chances that your game will be brought is a lot higher than if there were more games for it since there will be less choice.
On the subject...
I really don't get how these prices work.
In the US:
Kinect: $150
Kinect Bundle: $299
PS3: $299
Halo LE: $399
In UK:
Kinect: £130
Kinect Bundle: £249
PS3: £249
Halo LE: £249
Why is the Halo bundle so cheap? Might actually think of getting one now.
And now the 360 is outselling the PS3 WW, and the gap is set to be 6/7ml by the end of the year.
Amazing what can happen in a month :)
@deep
Aug: 360S arcade
Sept: Reach and limited edition 360S
Oct: iffy month, but should still keep the lead
Nov/Dec: Kinect
Thats how I see the 360 keeping momentum.
Edit @deep:
Halo by itself isn't much of a system seller but the limited edition 36...
Wow the desperation of the sony camp has really begun to reach whole new levels in the past weeks.
I just can't believe I clicked the link.
