I believe the reason The Order is getting so much attention is because Sony has yet to bring out what I would call a great AAA game this generation. I bought my PS4 to play KZ which turned out to be okay, not great bu not bad. Infamous came next, it was better than KZ but not by a lot. I sold my PS4 in June because I wasn't impressed with their E3 and it wasn't getting played. TLoU came out for it, but it was a remaster so I wasn't going to jump back in for it. DC and LB3 met with...
I think the guy above you did a very nice job of pointing it all out. Doesn't excuse yet another poorly written article however.
I love how the fanboys call it a speedrun, it isn't. If he were bypassing a bunch of gameplay that is part of the actual game (engaging enemies or lacations for instance) then it would be a speedrun. Not taking to time to "collect" doesn't make it a speedrun. Collecting is just filler.
To those that say people...
Because maybe the game is actually only 5 hours long without doing the mundane stuff?
I am happy to pay $60 for a fantastic 5-6 hours game. The potential issue with The Order (IMO) is half of it is cutscenes. That leaves very little actual gameplay. The reviewers will tell the tale on this one.
Uh, yes you can. You may have played the game (so you say), but it sounds to me like you didn't know how to play it well.
A ton of damage control already happening for a game that isn't even out yet.
Apparently you didn't get the official Sony memo...
- The game is 70 hours long.
- There are no QTE's
- If you pick up the collectables then its 120 hours long.
- The black bars are there for cinematic effect, not because it couldn't do 1080p.
- It could have been 120fps, it just runs better at 30.
- It has massive replay value.
- Its better without multiplayer, that would just complicate the menu.
- Anything...
PlayStation exclusive games already are only movies.
Anyone on here that praises Sony /s
You mean like PS4 is now? TLoU and Mordor are free with the system on Amazon and TLoU comes free everywhere else. Put the Kool Aid down
Honestly, the fact that it doesn't pretty much explains why it doesn't sell.
Its the law, they had to refund the difference. I doubt they want yet another lawsuit.
Awesome is MSFT giving a free month of live and ODST to buyers of the MCC. That's voluntary, a little different than doing something by law they are required to do.
You do realize anyone can buy one right? It isn't an elite club. It doesn't bother anyone here that all that gets talked about here are the graphics? Wasn't DC the same way?
Imagine standing in your living room playing catch with Derek Jeter and casually enjoying the afternoon. That's what Halolens and Kinect can bring you.
I hope this game turns out to be great. I don't have a PS4 at the moment and I STILL want it to be terrific. Its the best of times when every system has great exclusives and all three systems are worth the price of admission. This is how gamers win. It would make me buy a PS4 again, especially if Bloodbourne turns out to be great as well.
Edit; Ya know, I seriously don't get why people on this site hopes the other side burns. Its competition that make great products a...
KZ2 & 3, my favorite games on PS3. To me the best system ever made and I started playing when Pong came out. Yep, I'm old.
Scores of a game don't make any difference if someone is a fan of the genre. For instance, I tend to gravitate towards hack and slash with a strong story. As such I was a big fan of Ryse, which scored average at best. A reviewer cannot tell me how much I do or don't enjoy a game, that's a decision I get to make. I am also a racing fan who enjoys GT and Forza and a good arcade racer from time to time.
Not every game needs to have 500 cars or be able to switch out t...
Personally I don't mind the black bars. What I find amusing is people in denial that its really so the game can hold a respectable frame rate. Buying into all this "its cinematic" crud is laughable. It isn't 1080p as it isn't drawing a complete screen. The graphics are beautiful but they are also dealing with the power limitations of this generation. Ryse could have easily been "1080p" if they chose to cover half the screen with black bars as well. Yes, what is...
Then Sony doesn't care either, no hitting 60fps is just as much, if not more of a joke IMO.
If you want resolution and framerate, build a PC. Neither system has the horsepower to do it.
A complimentary game to play after you have finished this one in an afternoon and has no replay value.
Better yet, a complimentary refund for when you are disappointed its over before you finish lunch.
Complimentary glasses for seeing what's between the black bars.
A complimentary bouncing ball at the bottom to help you follow along with the cutscenes.
A complimentary controller add-on that presses the correct button for...
