As an X1 fan even I have to say its a foregone conclusion who wins this generation, the PS4. It is simply more powerful, has the support of 3rd party exclusives, and is easy to develop for. Combine that with they have done a brilliant job of marketing the system and its game over for MS, be happy with 2nd. There is nothing MS can do to change this, Sony can call their own price. While I believe this generation is underpowered compared to my PC, the PS4 is clearly the more powerful of the two...

Add up the 3DS total sales for the month the PS4 didn't beat it. It had good sales but the real beast in Japan is 3DS and mobile gaming.

People need to get it right, THE CONSOLE WILL NEVER BE MORE POWERFUL!!! The hardware is what it is. Both MS and Sony will constantly pursue better API's to access the existing, static hardware. The console will always have the same power. You cant take the videocard and suddenly make it faster, more pipes or whatever. Well said but therein also lies the issue. For a casual gamer or younger gamers most do not want that level of difficulty. Those are the people most likely to put the game away and not play it again. Its a game that speaks very strongly to a certain demographic and leaves others behind. I have no desire for a re-design, especially at this point. It matches everything in my rack nicely and due to its size, and the power supply not being in the case the thing runs nice and cool. Other consoles don't match anything with their curves or angles, I prefer something like this. So if they redesign it I hope the keep it boxish, just maybe smaller. I wont feel the need to buy a new one simply because of a re-design.

Honestly what do you care if they are exclusive so long as they are on your system of choice? I could care less if my PC game gets ported (Look at Planetside2 or many others), at least more people get to enjoy them that way.

Well apparently it doesn't, or you could put your PS3 disc in it and it would run. In fact, if it did everything, again, it would also improve the graphics and the frame-rate. It also doesn't play MP3's off of USB, have DNLA and so forth. Don't be a walking billboard for ANY company, demand more for your money and don't accept mediocrity.

I think you may be missing the point somewhat. The argument here is that DX12 will make porting between PC and X1 so easy that PS4 will be left out. The PC/X1 population far exceeds the PS4 base. In reality however you are correct, it would be foolish to ignore a 20+ million user base that's growing. It won't happen
