If the price cut is true, AND they release the improved hardware version with the upgraded chip at the same time, I'd pick up a 360 the same day. Mass effect looks almost too good to miss.
Europe has gotten the shaft on release dates, prices, and the price cut, so I guess this is just sony's way of throwing them a bone. I hope the demo comes too america soon after though. The lack of demos from e3 has been the only bad thing about a very good showing from sony at e3. Can't we get at LEAST 1 demo of either lair or heavenly sword? I don't think thats asking too much.

Visually this game looks amazing, the combat looked a little stiff, but still really good for an rpg. It also did look huge though with all those planets and locations to check out. To me mass effect seems way more interesting than halo3
Those facial animations are so real its creepy. They must have put in a ton of work in on this game. Can't wait to play this one.

As each developer gets more familiar with the equipment they'll develop better, faster and more efficient techniques. As a result costs will go down and so will the amount of time it takes ot develop the games. The ps3 isn't even a year old yet, so of course devs are taking longer and spending more to get high quality results on the hardware. Its common sense that the more experience you get doing something, the better you become at it.
What're you talking about? Did you even read the article? Most of the games they mentioned are comming out within the next six months. And mgs4 and killzone are within 8 months. Whats this "at least a year" crap.

I had my doubts after all the hype. And yea its not quite as good as the 05 trailer but its about 90% there and thats damn good. Uncharted also looked awesome, Lair showed more signs of quality, and the price drop looks like it was timed perfectly, right before the great exclusives start to drop. Sony went all out this E3 and regained some steam after this slump they've been in the past couple months.
If you think that trailer looked anything like FEAR you seriously need some glasses dude. I've played FEAR running on max settings on my pc and that killzone trailer is on a completely different level visually. Its not even close.
Whatever.. did you even play mgs3? It was hands down one of the best games ever made. Anyone who says the game is all cut scenes has either never played it or is just a fanboy looking to bash it for whatever reason they can find. The mgs series consistently brings new and fresh ideas into gaming. Splinter cell is good, but not even in the same league as metal gear.

I'm way more psyched for uncharted, but haze could give the ps3 another little bump during the holiday season. This fall/winter is shaping up to be one of the best stretches ever for gamers, regaurdless of the console.
lol yea that was the first thing I thought when I saw that clip too.. Overall it was a pretty stunning looking game though, and they'll probably fix the little bugs by the time its ready to ship. Its not on my "must have" list yet though.

The core isn't really worthless, its just more for "casual gamers" who don't care about downloadable content and just want to play the games.
