$100 price break on the premium + falcon model with reliable hardware and I'll pick one up the same day. Would be great to finally have both consoles.
I was wondering about this too so I looked it up. The pc version is coming out the same day as the 360 (August 21) and they appear to be identical.

Yea I feel you man, I expected this add on to be free, or $5 at the most. I'll end up paying it, because tekken online play would be pretty cool, and its only $10, but between this and the extra resistance maps costing extra sony is really nickeling and dimming us. I'll say one thing though, since they're charging us for it the servers better be completely lag free. I expect single player like smoothness for online play.
Yea bladestar is on point here.. the mgs series isn't for everyone. It doesn't appeal to casual gamers, but so what? Who says in order to be a great game that it has to appeal to everyone. Not everything can be mario. Some series are made purely for hardcore gamers, and mgs is one of them.
games like this are all about the player, and how good you get with the combat system. God of war and ninja gaiden would probably look pretty uninspired too if you only used the standard weapon combos with no tactical or special moves too.
This might be the start of something bad, with devs seeking to emulate the wii's success and dumb down their games to appeal to the casual gamer. Challenging games that push hand eye coordination and have more challenging puzzles might be harder to find now because of this, but its still early though so nothings for sure.

What they really need to do is fix the online aspect of the game. Outside of playing with friends about 95% of the madden games I play are online and not vs the cpu. Madden 06 on the ps2 had almost flawless online play with little to no lag and tons of features in place to cut down on cheaters, bug exploits etc. The online play on the ps3 version of madden 07 was terrible (can't speak for the 360 although it was probably a little better w/live). Yea I agree totally. Mario 3 was the best by far. Super mario world and mario 64 are both great games, but mario 3 easily beats them both.
Its pretty safe to say at this point that Lair will be one of the best looking games ever. I'm just curious as to whether the gameplay will match the quality of the visuals. If it plays as well as it looks this game will be amazing.
There's more than enough immature trash talk and whining in the live/psn communities alone, if there was cross platform play it would be about 5 minutes of actual gameplay, then a massive flame war would break out and it'd turn into nothing but bickering back and forth between fanboys (hmm, just like n4g lol).
And btw, it wouldn't matter which console's players were better at fps, pc fraggers would own them both : )
