Yea, as if the 360 didn't have a ton of hype around it either. Please. Look at the first 8 months of 360 sales and compare it to the first 8 months of ps3 sales. Because of the 360's year headstart thats a more accurate way to do it than looking at the current numbers.
And people aren't waiting for the ps3 because of brand recognition. They're waiting for all the games slated for the next 8 months (lair, heavenly sword, unreal, mgs4, uncharted, killzone etc.)
These "insert ps3 game" vs "insert 360 game" threads are such blatant flame bait.
Why would it matter if its on pc and 360? If its a good game then its a good game, who cares if its multiplatform.
And seriously, dante was such a vapid, cookie cutter character it doesn't really matter to me if he's in it or not, as long as the gameplay remains the same. As a character Dante was such a generic "cool guy badass", that he never had any real personality or character development.
I felt the same way when I was deciding whether to buy dmc3. The series looked like it was turning stale after the second one. But the third one was so good it changed my mind. Devil may cray may never reach the level of god of war, but it should still be a decent game.
The hypocrisy in the anti-videogame "crusade" would almost be funny if it weren't so annoying. There's nothing in manhunt 2 that you couldn't find in saw or hostel or any number of horor movies in that genre. The psn has been a huge let down so far with the lack of demos. No lair or heavenly sword demos? These are sony's two big titles for august and september. They should be doing a much better job at getting some playable content out there BEFORE the games come out so we know in advance whether they're worth picking up.
I don't own one, and probably never will, but why all the hate for the wii? Like most gamers I grew up on nintendo and wish them nothing but success. Yea its a total gimmick, and isn't for "hardcore" gamers, but thats still no reason to outright hate it. All these ms/sony fanboys are probably just pissed because the wii is running rings around both the ps3 and 360 in sales.

I haven't seen a single review for this game. The fake teams/players thing is pretty lame, even with all the retired greats. And playing online would suck since most user created teams will have the same exact players (elway, montana, barry sanders etc). But if the gameplay is good I might just pick it up anyway if madden disappoints again.
I dont buy that. A great game is a great game. It doesn't matter what platform you take it to. Unreal tournament was "made" for the pc, but I bet it will kick ass on both the 360 and ps3 when its released for the consoles. My pc ran halo at higher resolutions than the xbox, so it actually looked better, and probably ran smoother than on the xbox and I STILL thought it was overhyped. Still a decent game, but nowhere near the hype.
This would be a killer ap on the wii. We're talking 2 million units sold at least.
Crappy video quality, but the game is looking great. I love the amount of stuff going on at once. Very much like the killzone footage. Its so awesome these guys decided not to do another wwII game and put their talents towards something at least kind of new.
Yea I'm going to have to go with halo on this one. I played the first one on pc and while it was a decent fps I was left thinking "thats what all the hype is about?" Half life 2, gears of war, farcry, unreal, and resistance are just a few of the better shooter games out there imo.
The big games I actually am looking forward to though are mass effect, lair, mgs4 and uncharted. Those all look like they'll bring some great new things to gaming.

If the original "budget" ps3 was a failure that ultimately got discontinued, why would sony opt for an even more stripped down version with no backwards compatibility (albeit with a bigger hd) and make the same mistake twice? Their best bet imo is to further drop the price of the 60gb to $450 for the holidays, wait until the 60gb inventory is all sold out then drop the price of the 80gb model to $500 and establish the 80gb as the "final" and only ps3 model and move on from...
