Nah its not.
I'll explain you with facts, unlike you that just starts with name calling and bad language.
Every real next gen starts with a jump in RAM memory of about 8 x the RAM of last gen. Proof:
PS1 had 3.5MB of total RAM.
PS2 had 32MB main ram and 4MB eDram. (just over 8 x last gen)
PS3 had 512MB of total RAM (Sony took the jump on Xbox 1's 64MB ram x 8)
SNES had 128KB main ram ...
Well well we're 7 years after the 360's launch. There are quad core phones these days, and phones have 1GB to 2GB of RAM. More than the 360 or PS3 got with 512MB back then.
Tech evolves, this is what happens.
More interesting is what real next gen gives at E3 2013 with PSOrbis and Xbox 8. The WiiUpgrade with just 1GB RAM for the gamepart isn't that next gen...
Well, I said, maybe this time it'll be 4 x the RAM of last gen, because last gen both MS and Sony sold their consoles at launch and for a long time at a loss.
Next gen might be different, as Sony is still making loss on their games section since the PS3 launched in 2006 for billions and billions. MS turned profit, but mainly because of the Xbox Live subscriptions.
They've watched Nintendo pull a Wii and earning on each unit sold even at launch already...
So only 1GB available for a game in its RAM.
So much for 'next gen'.
At the end of 2005, memory was expensive, so 512MB was about what they could do and keep the consoles price not going really sky high.
And anyone saying 'it got 2GB', well that 1GB reserved for the OS is nice and all, but this 1GB for the game won't hold up against the 360 and PS3 that'll get at least 2GB and maybe even 4GB for the gamepart next gen. ...
If it gets a 9/10 from EDGE, its really REALLY good
...
So why later than USA? Counter Strike also 'would arrive later', we're 4 weeks after USA release on PSN and still no show.
SCEE is f*cking up lately.
And where is Double Dragon free for PS+ in EU? USA got it yesterday, it was promised to EU too on the blog, yet no show today.
Sigh.
ORLY
Why in hell would Nintendo otherwise have an own press moment about WiiUpgrade that is suppose to launch in Nov/Dec this year?
duh...
So you play console sales? Instead of games? (aka not Wiifit nonsense)
I rather have a great spec device thats 3rd in sales (still PS3 at 70 mln sold) with great games, then a weak last gen SDTV Wii that sold the most and got 99% of games shovelware.
Whatever rocks your boat Wiiboy!
Lol funny if you talk about the best library of titles. LOLOLOL the Wii is one big pile of crapware, with a few first party titles thats all pretty much the same ...
So if this is true...
What do we have here.
A triple core IBM CPU, something the 360 had as cutting edge tech launching in 2005.
1GB Ram, not the said at least 1.5GB and with todays RAM prices a bummer. RAM has become so much cheaper as it was in 2005/2006 when this gen started.
When real next gen is announced at E3 2013 with PSOrbis and Xbox 8, the WiiUpgrade will be the Wii story all over again. Getting weak downgraded port...
CPU confirmed?
Give me a link where NINTENDO confirms this CPU and the minimum of cores etc. or its just a rumor and nothing confirmed. There are phones with a smaller screen in inches and a higher resolution.
GPU I see you're wild guessing. Nice. Nothing confirmed either.
The gamepad's screen is 6.2 inch. The human eye certainly can see the difference between 480p and 720p, even on 6.2 inch. Getting stuff sharper isn't limited li...
Why buy a this gen console thats 7 years late with hardware to match the 360/PS3 anyways...
Paying full price for ported games like Mass Effect 3, that aren 20 USD in the bargain bin for 360/PS3 when WiiUpgrades version is released. NICE!
And remember a lot of nice stuff was announced for 3DS too. Then at launch, nothing was there. So don't get the hopes up for WiiUpgrade!
Eh....360 didn't have an impressive installed base when it was hacked. It was released Christmas 2005, it was hacked March 2006. Four months after its release.
Wii was released Christmas 2006, it was hacked within one or two months. No big installed base. Etc etc. So your assumption they didn't die because they had a massive number of units sold is false. You know why they survived? Because not everyone pirates.
So you're wrong, very wrong on that...
There is piracy on PC games too, let's lock the hardware so you can only do stuff on it that MS allows you...
See what I did thur?
If one buys a piece of hardware and owns that piece of hardware, one should be able to do anything with it that one wants. Throw it in the sea, play on it, hack it.
If homebrew leads to people playing 'backups' than so be it. Sooner or later, any device gets hacked. If someone goes and play illegal stu...
Girls these days, can't stand a thing!
In the good old days, man just walked out of his cave, knocked a chick on the head with a bat, dragged her back to the cave...
@ Sandman
Normal price is 50 Euro, aka something like 70 USD. So we pay 20 USD more a year than SCEA. I think we deserve some extra content for that already, as we also get shafted on console prices, cost the same in Euro as in USA, same with retail games, we pay 60 Euro, while you pay 60 USD.
So that. And one can't get Deus X anymore if one starts subscription now.
Only cool thing is that there is a 25% rebate on PS+ starting today till 19th.
But yet the EU PS+ lacks in its updates. While USA already got them. How about that Slowny?
They will, at the Tokyo Game Show.
'Nintendo does nothing but make money'?
* Looks back at Gamecube... Stares for a while... 3rd in sales at 20 mln sold even behind XBOX 1... Nintendo not doing so well at that time...
The Wii wasn't even that new with its motion controls, the Dreamcast had a shitload of motion controls (Samba de Amigo, Fishing Rods, you name it). The only thing that Nintendo did was making the 1st input device motion controlled and not optional. Combine that with t...
No it doesn't. They can bring the PS4 in 2013 and have the PS3 sold next to it for a long time to come.
They did the same with PS2, they didn't stop production and sales when the PS3 was released.
Its just saving costs, being able to reduce prices. Says nothing about a new console.
