Half of that 2GB WiiU RAM is reserved for the OS. So basically they have 1GB to play around with really.
For the 360 for example the OS takes only 30MB of that 512MB. So basically it has 2 times the RAM available.
Thing is, soon enough they'll run into the 1GB limit too. This is always how it goes. With last gen they ran into the 64MB RAM limit.
Xbox 8 and PSOrbis are likely to get 4GB RAM, even more fun than WiiU's 2GB where just 1GB...

"I've pointed this out before. In Feb, analysts said the Vita could sell a "whopping" 12 million in the fiscal year with a price cut. No price cut is coming and now the forecast is 10 million. Given that 12 million was seen as "whopping" sales in the current market, why is 10 million seen as a failure (assuming it hits this figure by the end of March)? "
You really, really believe that the PSVita that has managed...
There is actually a difference by rumors that hold some ground and basically made up stuff by a clusterf*ck... You could link him to any other picture he posted of any other company he has visited and say he will go to work with that company.
It is a rumor made up pretty much, but hey enjoy the 15 mins of fame I guess.
Didn't Clif say that he was taking a sabbatical of a year anyways?
Those are some wise words.
WiiUpgrade gets ports from PS360. Look at Fifa 13 on WiiU, it even miss the new stuff that both 360 and PS3 got in their version.
Games on WiiU are more expensive. The older ones like Mass Effect 3 are half the price on PS360 as the price for the WiiU version.
New games like Assassins Creed 3 and COD in UK are 10 pounds more expensive as PS360 versions.
Same story here, PS360 + PSVita are enjoyed, ...
And to get a 2nd tablet controller with the WiiU one just bought...
Will cost 150 USD/Euro!
3G tethering sucks the smartphones battery empty.
I imported a Huawei 5830 from UK for something like 35 Euro, ordered two extra batteries for it that cost me 6 USD incl shipment from Dealextreme.
Works great, including online gaming that the normal 3G PSVita doesn't let you do (it blocks online gaming on 3G PSVita, only PSN trophy/message checking etc). It also works great with XBL or PSN on 360/PS3 when taken with you to places you don't have normal...
Question is:
how much will that 2nd tablet controller cost one?
150 bucks?
Even worse, Chinese kids died for the WiiUpgrade.
Now, you don't want blood on your hands for buying it right? Advice: don't buy the WiiUpgrade, its a bloody mess! Vote against child labor by banning the WiiU.

Sony has a long term strategy, sure. I have a PS3 fat, slim, two PSP's and even a PSVita.
Then again, how long can a company keep its shareholders happy, when they write big -read billions and billions of dollars each year- losses since the introduction of the PS3 in 2006?
Recently we saw Sony fire half of the marketing department. Now that department already was doing a sh!tty job overall, so now I guess they do half the sh!t.
Thing is, ...
And how do you explain the 360 rebate of 50 bucks on all models then?
Certainly seems that at least MS is trying to outdo Sony on price this Christmas.
The Wii drop is debatable as it already was a lot cheaper than both 360 and PS3. Then again the Wii is just an overclocked Gamecube, and the Gamecube was dumped for 79 bucks when the Wii got on sale. Looking at how old the Wii's hardware is, it should be under 100 already, when it launched for 250 in 2006....
There are Nintendo games on the Wii too. Why get a remake of New Super Mario Bros on WiiUpgrade when the exact same game is on the Wii?
A console that is on sale for 130 USD now with two sport games in the pack? The Wii that can be softmodded to play pretty much all old consoles roms from every console out there besides last gen (XBOX/PS2), but can play Gamecube games even.
I'd say, skip the WiiUpgrade, as real next gen is here at E3 2013, PSOrbis and Xbo...
Both sides are right in some way.
No, there isn't a massive amount of power hidden somewhere, this is 2006 hardware and not some futuristic alien technology, or it becomes magically more powerful by its age.
BUT, we've also seen in the past that every console at the end of its lifecycle gets games that squeeze out the last bits of power out of every till then part of the system that wasn't known how to use before.
If we look at la...
Sony did a great job the past years to get nice downloadable PSN games on board.
Gotta give them props for that. The original Joe Danger, Flower, Journey, Sound Shapes, Retro Grade, Hell Yeah! Dead Rabbit and more.
Keep it up Sony, they even got me switched from being a XBL subscriber to PS+ and get many of these games to play on my PS3 and soon PSVita with the instant game collection and monthly games instead of just paying for online on XBL.
So upscaled to 1080p, nice faking going on there...
I still remember my COD experience on the Wii, pure horror. Game got me nightmares and it was not because of the great realistic gameplay and blood everywhere. Sad game was sad on Wii.
COD turned sad after COD4 anyways, but that is a different story. Anyways, never a shooter on a Wii or WiiUpgrade anymore for several reasons. A first: the controller. Wiimote is inaccurate, WiiU bulky tablet controller is not...
lol people still get it up as a question, really?
Since like what, 2005/2006 PES has just lost it, stand still, didn't improve, fill in whatever.
Fifa 13 just nails it again. Even though the improvements just might seem small adjustments on Fifa 12, it made a great game improving on itself in a lot of ways. Which is impressive.
I know many, many former PES fans, they hated Fifa years back. They all switched for the love of fusbol
Ubisoft was very impressed by the inaccurate Wiimote when the Wii launched too back then in 2006.
Why? Because they had some games to sell.
This time it ain't different. Same company, same story. They got a lot of games to push.
The blown up old tech one touch stylus bulky tablet controller is just a gimmick to sell the new console, like the Wiimote was to sell the Wii. Thats all. Nintendo is in it to sell their own hardware with profit, ...
Pachter is spot on. The bulky tablet controller is an one touch screen aka a blown up DS. Another gimmick to sell a console with, how the Wii was sold by the Wiimote motion gimmick. The 3rd party pretty much only made shovelware for it, a few exceptions besides that pile of rubbish. The other only good games were 1st party Nintendo games.
WiiU won't change a lot.

One major difference:
Last console cycle took about 4 to 5 years (XBOX 1 came in 2001, 360 in 2005, PS2 came in 2001, PS3 in 2006 etc).
This time the 360 is on 7 years and yet at earliest will be 8 years before 720 is there. PS3 is on 6 years and will be on 7 to 8 years before PS4 is there. Wii is on 6 years when WiiU arrives.
Thus: numbers are a bit different when taken into account how long a cycle is.
Good thing is adding real small amounts like 5 pound in UK.
Some people don't want to add 20 or 50 bucks at once, so this is a nice move from Sony!
