There are two things you need to do Sony:
1. Market the hell out of the PSVita. You ain't doing that. If you don't do that, it doesn't sell. If there is a low installed base no 3rd party dev is interested
2. Lower the goddamn price of the PSVita to 199 Euro/USD max incl a memcard. The mass of people don't want to pay over 200 for a handheld system.
Certainly not if PS3's nowadays in rebate are on sale for 200 already.
"YLOD was no where near as epic as RROD, don't even try to compare the two, and RROD alone was one of many other technical faults that plagued the 360 since launch."
Actually YLOD was, the damage was just in slow motion compared to the 360. Why not compare the two? Lets see: I know a lot of gamers, but a group of around 15 that have a lot of contact with eachother and everyone that had a launch PS3 fat had it died by YLOD. Actually there are some that had 3 PS3&...
Launch PS3's YLOD after 1 to 2 years, 360's often RROD'd after some months.
Both broke down a lot because of two failures:
1. High energy use between 200 and 300 watt, making PCB bend slightly giving stress on CPU and GPU's pins
Combined with
2. Solder without lead in it, being weaker than older solder used in previous consoles with lead.
A better cooling system/fans kept the problem down a ta...
Now if they only had this price overhere in EU.
Lowest price is 320 Euro. Like wtf.
160 bucks, for that screen, a pair of glasses and Motorstorm 3. Like come on. Even just for trying it out I'd buy it for 160 USD.
Sony needs to support its marketing talk for sure.
Once they were talking about Move doing all that Wiimote does and more. While Move is more accurate than Wiimote, support is hardly there.
Some patches for games, that remain overall best played with the DS3 and hardly any exclusive Move support just pretty much killed Move all together. To the point that they'd better not had introduced it at all. That is pretty sad.
If you say somethin...
I really hate the PS3 superslim design.
The top loader with sliding cover looks cheap. All of it looks supercheap. The mix of the fats shiny cover parts combined with some cheap looking disc cover, meh.
I have both a PS3 fat and PS3 slim (2000) model, the PS3 Fat looks the sexiest, although a tad big and heavy. The PS3 slim 2000 one is alright although the plastic looks cheap already compared to the PS3 fat, and the luxery touch buttons from the Fat are repla...
Bahahaha more fail with the WiiUpgrade!
For the PS3 I imported countless special or limited editions from USA, like GOW III, Uncharted 3 and LittleBigPlanet 2. For 360 I got some from Asia even.
So much fail going on for WiiUpgrade, it ain't funny anymore!
Yup, N64 was more powerful and introduced the first real 3D games on consoles pretty much. That made the N64 a total different gen from PSX.
More power means more stuff that can be done, not only in resolution but also physics and stuff. Just look at what the weak supercharged Gamecube hardware did with the Wii. Only 1st party games that don't demand a lot from the system like Mario are good.
A few 3rd party games were just alright, nothing great. Like Ma...
lol Nintendo just put a cap on the pre order consoles for about 200k to 400k for NA, and then have the shops say 'we sold out' well duh. If you have a low stock sure you sell out.
Nice marketing, yet the system stays just a WiiUpgrade to current gen, not next gen.
Most likely the WiiUpgrade has the triple core PowerPC CPU. Pretty much the same as the 360 for easy ports of existing games.
Not that hard to understand really.
WiiUpgrade just gets a cheap upgrade to current gen, thats all.
Real next gen arrives with the announcement of XBOX 8 and PSOrbis at E3 2013.
@ LOGICWINS
"Because the Wii U version MAY be the better version by a mile."
'May' eh? WiiUpgrade has no, or soon a low installed base. Low installed base consoles always get PORTS, they're not leading in development. Much like the PS3 got 360 ports because the 360 had a year head start. WiiUpgrade most likely gets a 360 port for the games that get announced for WiiUpgrade as the CPU's are similar. GTAV isn't announced for WiiUpg...
This is a bonus on the PS+ renewal I just did with the 25% discount for EU. I had PS+ at launch and after that year with some free months because of the PSN hack/downtime, it wasn't really worth it to me.
Change came this summer with the E3 announcement of extra games. Value is building up. Haven't bought Escape Plan yet, I'd like to get that for free!

You either are a troll that doesn't own a PSVita or the ga...
Not really. I loved the NES, the SNES, heck, I was a N64 fanboy.
The SNES and N64 both pushed great games, N64 pushed 3D in games.
With the Gamecube a bit less already, with the Wii, which had basically overclocked Gamecube chips, Nintendo lost me as a gamer yes. Their focus became sh!t. The focus was put on selling hardware boxes the most, and not care for games. Same with them selling Wiifit hardware, Wiimote Plus hardware addon to fix the inaccurate Wiimot...
If winning is selling the most consoles but yet get the biggest pile of shovelware again like the Wii got, then maybe WiiUpgrade will.
I don't play console sales though, but good games. And those are on the PS3 and 360. Outside the known stuff like Mario and Zelda etc ofcourse.
Oh and WiiUpgrade is just upgrading to current gen, its not next gen. Next gen starts in 2013/2014 with Xbox 8 and PSOrbis
EDIT
@ Pills below
They have yet to show a game on WiiUpgrade that touches visuals like The Last of Us, Puppeteer or God of War for example.
And the day they might reach it, 'knowing' WiiUpgrades hardware, by then real next gen already is out with Xbox 8 at the end of 2013 and PSOrbis somewhere in 2014.
Which will have CPU's that are really a generation ahead, and not some WiiUpgrade CPU that even is slower than current gen. The real next gen that will have GPU'...
One reason not to do it:
the ports will be sold for a premium 60 bucks on WiiUpgrade, like Mass Effect 3, Batman
While the PS3/360 versions are in the bargain bin for just 15 to 20 bucks at that time...
You seem to forget that shop clerks perfectly tell the customers what is the newest device to get.
Besides that, you that parents don't know about it? Eh, kids tell their parents PERFECTLY what they want or what their friends have. Kids see the WiiUpgrades commercials with the tablet controller and will moan and cry their parents ears off.
There is one thing that could have made it a bit different, that is if SOny dropped the new PS3 slim under 200 bucks...
What makes the difference between a disc game and a downloadable one?
Once its on BluRay its good, if its not its bad?
There are even full retail games now downloadable...
300 for a 6 year old console or 300 for a brand new 2012 released one.
Casual/mass of people isn't smart, they will go for new stuff, not looking at the value of the package.
Too bad Sony didn't put the 12GB PS3 Slim just under 200, because the mass of people sees 200 bucks as a very important psychological barrier for buying stuff.
Pretty sure I am right, as the sales are low as hell.
Look at the 3DS, no sales at 250. Dropped to 170 and bam sales. Even without good games were there, they came after the price drop mainly.
The mass of people don't buy handhelds for 250, period.
Sales prove I am right.
