Nah, a current Gen powered device that'll mostly gets ports from systems that have a much higher number on installed base, from a company that doesn't have a clue how a well working online environment like psn or xbl is made?

Sony probably won't continu with the Cell onboard. If they don't they'll lose BC for PS3 though. So going the Cell route is a way to have the PS3 library of games to run instantly at launch.
Interesting to see what the real specs are. But 10GB of XDR2 Ram and 10GB of GDDR6 Ram? 20GB of ram total seems overstretched by a lot.

If I wanted something to change, it would have been:
1. using SD memcards, the talk about preventing piracy is overal nonsense, this starts with an OS that isn't vulnerable, not the memcard. Its just a cheap way from Sony to earn a lot of cash on overpriced memorycards. Same way they did with the memstick in the PSP.
2. adding a HDMI out port! This system is so powerful it should be able to output to a bigger screen if wanted/needed.
Well, if the device not selling like it should, has really bad sales numbers in its homeland Japan, sells below the 3DS with an enormous gap between them and even gets outsold by its little brother PSP...
Sony seems to be in the same position the 3DS is. They even had something extra the 3DS didn't have: a wide range of games at launch, with actually some good titles.
Ofcourse it needs more exclusive content instead of all these PS3 big brother ports, but...
Sony has no clue how to support stuff they sell with a lot of show at first.
Move is laying around here, its a nice glowing disco stick though. Sony needs to make more exclusive content for it, not some dumb patch for a game where DS3 is used too and almost everytime the better device to play the game with...
Actually with the new announced EU bundles they sort of did already.
WiFi Vita with Uncharted and a memcard for the normal price of 250 Euro.
Uncharted = 40 to 50 EUro in shops. Memcard starts at 20 Euro.
So one could say the PSVita is sold for around 190 Euro.

With the Japanese market leading here. Japanese want device specific games/content. They don't want a watered down version of Uncharted with some touch functions added.
World wide the sales of the PSVita are also well under 3DS, and in specific weeks under the PSP even. Part of it, is the price of PSVita, but thats not all.

Lets be fair now. The only really unique, exclusive to PSVita game that uses the device with all its tech is Escape Plan. Well there is little Deviants ofcourse, but that game sucks donkey balls.
Upcoming Gravity Rush is great too, but at the mean time, almost all games are ports or same IP kind of games that are on the big brother PS3.

Well its basically a supercharged Gamecube, and on last gen SD 480p so that 100 bucks sounds about right when one can get a real console that does 720p/1080p for 150 to 200 bucks with the 360/PS3.
Nah, the total number of gamers is expanding, especially by the Wii last gen, to a group of people that wouldn't buy a console before the Wii launched.
A new group that'll explore for example Mario, but also other 3D platformers.

I sad differences between VERSIONS of a game on ps3/360, as in multiplat games. Not talking about exclusives, where Sony invested a lot in 1st party devs and engines specifically for ps3 that push it further than MS does with the 360.

Ehm, you DO need a 2nd analoge stick to have a better gaming experience. Why do you think all the core gamer home consoles show this dual analoge stick?
