I think the overall winner will deliver the technology/platform to give us killer apps.
Right now, that seems to be a small potential for Kinect, because it is still unexplored, but also the cloud.
The power of a console is an advantage as well as price, but neither has in the past given us "better" games. Otherwise, gaming would be far more awesome on PC, and it isn't. It is better, but it isn't swaying the masses. When it all comes down, i...
@digital:
REmember MS pioneered the "indie" developer by way of XNA, and is courting indie developers as well. Nintendo doesn't count, so no there is no "agenda" from me. Maybe you are the one, seeing how that is all you see....
That said, even back in the day with MS screening games with XBLA there were few and far between good games.
Also, I didn't say that AAA games are all good games, but there certainly are f...
If you read the article, it explains A LOT:
a) a P2P connection bandwidth is saturated and doesn't enable you to have a lot of "things" on screen moving about.
The AI Respawn is talking about is having many of them on screen. If you play Titanfall you know that the grunts/spectres are not there to replace a human as in a bot. They are not there to outsmart the human. Try it!
It is the number of them that is not possible with jus...
What I'm seeing is double standards on this site. When Titanfall released with mostly a multiplayer only game, the constant complaint was "it lacks single player and charges $60", blah blah blah.
MGS is about to drop with a short-@ss game, and the price shouldn't matter all of a sudden.
The vast majority of indie games has been pure cr@p to me. I have better luck with AAA games, and gladly pay for them even at $60 a pop.
There are good indie games, but there are far too few in a sea of cr@p. Also, I like the quality of presentation to experience the AAA delivers.
Gameplay matters, but to me it is the entire experience that makes a great game. That includes story, presentation, immersion as well as the all important game play. Graphics thoug...
Then stop running around and getting killed.
Start pay attention to why you are getting killed, see what others are doing. Perhaps, shadow another gamer. Once you get into it, you will really enjoy it, but it requires a little patience.
I was once a single player gamer only for a long time, until Halo came about, but then I played it just a little because everyone would kick my arse. I then started playing little by little and learning the ropes with Gears of...
So pointless bickering about resolution, when Titanfall wins where it matters in being a better game decided by critics (and by me), but also because Azure cloud ensures dedicated server for every game with 15ms for many.
Titanfall wins where it matters, in game experience, not in stupid resolutions. You can have you resolution, I will take the game experience!
My first thought was, if PS4s are so scarce, wouldn't these go for a lot more?
Used consoles tend to go for closer to their retail value, let alone a supposed out of stock one.
Seems like the vast majority here is misunderstanding the term "cloud" and its difference to dedicated server.
Dedicated server, is exactly that. It is a set of servers specifically for a task, like hosting online multiplayer game.
Cloud is a vast number of scaling servers with services built in for ease of management. The services are pre-baked in and usually follows a standard making it easy to expand, to manage and build in services.
No, the difference is MS through their ignorance didn't realize what consumers wanted and assumed everybody would understand their vision.
Sony on the other hand willfully ignored lax security, using unpatched software that is common to fix security issues and had more than 70 million people's information get into the hands of hackers.
For all of that, they said sorry and gave you a free month of PS+. Gamers rejoice!
That is amazing number for Xbox One considering it is prior to Titanfall release, and everyone is waiting on the Titanfall or Forza 5 free game bundle.
March will be a banner month for Xbox One sales.
Nobody noticed it during the limited beta, but somehow they do with the full game?
All I heard is praise, and I'm sorry you will not get to enjoy it....
The new connector allows for better quality sound, interface and a whole host of improvments.
Why stick with the old?
An adapter for those that don't mind using their old stuff is a good compromise. Don't hold the people that want to move into the future back please!
Just consider yourself that this is a minor inconveniene instead of having PSN leak your information and expose yourself to risk of identity theft and having the network go dark for a month.
This is annoying, but there is no scheduled maintenaince where the entire network is taken down on Xbox Live unlike other platforms.
That said, Titanfall so far is f'in amazing!!! Haven't had a problem and I'm in CA. Lucky me! ;D
So it was a sh!tty game that needs a lot of work. Those games, rarely end up being good let alone great.
Are they still working on 60fps?
Personal dislike for a genre doesn't mean one cannot recognize greatness. In fact, I expect a journalist that reviews a game to put aside his personal feelings towards a genre, stay unbiased and review the game based on the game!
You are asking for biased reviews from people that enjoy the genre only. That would be highly counter productive and go against journalism!
Do you have cloud and dedicated server on your multiplayer games?
KillZone Shadowfall has P2P with proxy servers to make it look like you have servers. Point being, both services has their advantages....
I'm jealous, especially of Titanfall!
Only two more days, and I get my sweet hands on a digital copy. I can then instantly switch between playing Titanfalls and enjoying a Netflix movie!
Cannot wait!!! :D
Or Spencer could just stay quiet, like most other people!
As far as I can tell, MS is very committed. Look at all the investments, the resources putin to make it a success both from exclusive games, first party studios, second and third parties, and the investment into cloud for Xbox Live and the goal of all in one entertainment.
If anything, MS isn't the one that had a leader depart unexplained recently with no other job, clsoure of studios and major cut...
It isn't even rumors, because a rumor has to has a source!
Fabricated news isn't rumors, even though they often go for the same!!!
We just have to wait and see for official numbers, but in the meanwhile I will enjoy 15ms ping in Titanfall every day.
