Michael Ironside?

Splinter Cell: Wheelchair! See Ironside stealthily move around in a wheelchair. The dude is old, lets move on.

The original SP:Conviction had stealth, and so will Blacklist. Why does it have to be exclusively "stealth"?

If you want to talk about unsafe investment, Nintendo is the man! Wii was hardly a safe investment. The Xbox was hardly a safe investment, especially the second time around when the first one essentially failed!

I'd say Beyond Two Souls is pretty darn safe because of a fan following of David Cage now. Heavy Rain though was not. I don't see any huge "risk" with Sony's lineup. If there is a risk, it is the risk of them not supporting their hardware with a ...

"Personally, I'd take restrictions that keep me from selling something over restrictions that keep me from using something."

Given the two evils, of course I would prefer to be able to play my games. The question is, why are the pirates getting a working game while I get the short end of the stick?

So if used games were illegal, I will turn to pirating. It's easier than owning, far cheaper and I even get the better experience! F developers/p...

PSN is down all the time (twice this past week so far), it just doesn't get reported because Sony doesn't even have a freaken tool to tell you. It's easier to hide it that way.

@morganfell:

XBL was down due to massive numbers of users, not because of instability. The best you could do was four and a half years ago?

It really tells you how stable and remarkable Xbox Live is!

Minecraft is a crazy phenomenon. The game sold more than 2 million copies like the first week. The fact people play it almost as much as MW3 is even more crazy. Knocking out Black Ops, Fifa and even BF3.

Who said casuals don't buy games or play?

@Prince_Dim-Lu:

This site is heavily Sony/PS3 biased so no surprise there. Fact of the matter is that the Xbox 360 got an unprecedented 3-year warranty, and all repair cost refunded. When the PS2 had Disc Read Errors, consumers got nothing for years. A lawsuit ended in a settlement years later. So what you got was an expensive paperweight PS2 and $40 refund if you still had the receipt.

It really puts it in perspective.

MS really stepped up their customer service. Surprise about Nintendo though, I always hear good things about them.

Yeah, apparently MS outsold Sony for the last 17 months. Kind of surprising really, considering the value the PS3 brings after the second price cut while MS doesn't lift a finger.

What is going on with the Wii though? It seems like it is doing well.

@MrBeatdown:

"I'm not saying games deserve special treatment, but it would be naive to act as if games don't face a very different set of challenges from other products."

That is my point, every other industry face issues some far worse than this yet they don't get protection.

The idea that you aren't allowed to resell a used product is ridiculous. There are plenty of products that suffer effects from used market, ye...

meh! It's better than the freaky unexplained stuff they did before. At least here they tell you about the product, albeit in a boring way.

I think new hardware is needed to stimulate interest. Also, lower price on last years product also helps. That is what phone/tablet vendors do every year.

MS hasn't had a price drop in ages. It is amazing that thing still sells after all these years, and the pricing pressure from the competition.

I hope not, I don't play MMO and really want to enjoy the next ME!

By adding more content after the fact, such as GOTY editions. Also, a good idea is to make the game so darn good, that customers don't want to sell it back.

High demand games a high trade-in and resell value, which means more new copies are sold.

Finally, a good analogy is software and music. I would even argue that music is far worse off, because the price took a drastic dive from $10+ albums to $1 songs, it's easy and fast to share/pirate, and rippi...

Maybe because they are incompetent and lack the ability to execute on ideas?

Tell me what product Sony has actually been a worthy competitor?

Console/Gaming -> Nintendo and MS pounded Sony to third place.
Handheld -> Nintendo and Apple among others
TV -> Samsung says hi!
Portable Music player -> iPod anyone?
Smart Phones -> Basically every other major vendor other than Sony
Media -> Netflix, Hulu and ...

Well, MS has been talking about cross play for a long time and combining WP7 with Xbox Live. This isn't some ground breaking idea here.

In fact, Nintendo's approach dates back to the Game Boy Advance connecting to the GameCube and maybe even earlier.

Fact of the matter is that the Wii U's biggest advantage is that it the tablet controller is a standard. Guaranteed included with every Wii U. MS tried to mitigate this with allowing SmartGlass on al...

@pixelsword:

Wow. Nice exageration there:

"First of all, The Wii didn't come out first, Move is still the second PRECISE motion control (the first being the sixaxis), if you want to get technical."

There is nothing accurate about the sixaxis and the thing was useless and laggy as hell.

Sony might have "invented" it first, but nobody gives a flying F. Why? Nobody cares about inventions that aren't u...

Supreme court will strike this down. No worries.

If Sony did come out with it first, and let Nintendo get runaway success. It doesn't speak highly of Sony.

Words to describe it would be mismanagement, loss of confidence and lack of foresight.
