I would buy a Wii U just to play StarCraft on it!
I think voice control with Kinect, and Smart Glass on box 360 might work better though.
@darthv72:
Windows 8 is licensed to everyone and their mother if you pony up. We are still getting slates from Asus, HP, Dell, and the likes so I'm not sure I follow you?
Surface is likely to get the proper push as 3rd party hardware manufacturers aren't stepping up and creating Apple like quality products. The Surface just looks so beautiful and apparently it is not a fingerprint magnet!

It's a rehashed CoD game on the PS Vita. It's also a highly multiplayer centric game, which the PS Vita isn't suitable for.
3G internet service is slow (if you are willing to pay up for using it exclusively on your PS Vita) and Wifi isn't abound which limits portability, the one advantage of PS Vita is crippled.
I think CoD will lift sales, but not by much and will quickly be insignificant.
"Because we have the Vita, I think we can do a lot of special things. And remember, that Wii U tablet doesn't have a processor in it, so it's got to be fueled by that box sitting under your TV. We can do some pretty special things that you'll start to see on the floor this year and you'll see more over the upcoming months about what you can do when you actually have a processor in the thing that's in your hand as well,"

I thought Bioware Store already released this?
I think at the time it was $50 too... Tempting though.
They are coming!
MS abandoned gamers! Jump ship to PS3. Soon you can enjoy Last Guardian and The Agent! /s
PS3 exclusives this year seem to be mostly unimportant games like All Star and smaller games. There is a drought for the PS3 this year with no heavy hitter. Black Ops will be this years best sold game on PS3 again.
Pre-orders are indictive of demand. You would think they scale linearly on all platform/games. So no, it isn't irrelevant.
However, vgchartz numbers might be irrelevant, but they tend to be in the ballpark if it is a big park.
Still Halo 4 is going to be huge!!! The graphics alone is to die for! XD
Surface supporting a MS Xbox 360 controller would be awesome!
"One amusing comment I saw on another forum was 'Yay, so now people who don't want a Windows phone can not get a Windows Tablet to go with it'."
For everyone else, we are getting it. Apps that work on your desktop, on your tablet and on your phone? One app system to rule them all!
Also, WP7 is by far the most responsive mobile OS I have ever used. It's rock solid and has only frozen a handful of times since I bought many moons ago. I...
These MS Surface tablets freaking rocks! I want one bad and it doubles up as PC. Hook it up to a dock and you got a full fledged PC with an i5. That is some serious punch there. The ARM version runs Tegra.
@Neko_Mega:
Apple is the only one that provides Retina Display on their iPad. Most other providers use a low resolution screen in comparison. Surface runs 1080p which is close, but not the same even.
I don't seeing, the president acknowledging mistakes and weaknesses is the first step towards correcting it. Way worse to hear a president say, everything is fine while the company is tanking!
That is what was going on with THQ in the past.
@Thecraft1989:
Disagrees don't bother me, and that doesn't change facts. It's a case of ignorance is a bliss. Not that it should matter to end-user anyhow.
Fact of the matter is, Sony is in the worst position of the three console manufacturers.
MS is full of cash, has a diversified customer base, and view Xbox as an important stepping stone to keeping the company relevant.
Nintendo albeit has a sketchy next genera...
Problem is, even if you budget in advance it doesn't mean you can afford it. It just means you are better prepared for it.
I want that 10 million dollar home next year, doesn't mean I can afford it.
Typically a console launch of the type Sony is embarking on cost a *loss* of $100-$300 per unit. After 10 million sold the first year, you are looking a $1-3 billion in losses. On the low end, that is 1/14 of what Sony is valued for the entire company!
Blu-ray feature is hardly worth $150-200 extra?
If it was such an issue, here is a blu-ray player with netflix for $80 and it doesn't have that pesky controller:

Also, Roku gets Angry Bird! XD
They have that too, and it's not a PS3 and cost far less at $80 (one third):

I don't see it either. Maybe dad will play some games once he figures out the interface?
I was going to say the same thing, the Roku supports more apps than PS3 and cost a fraction of it, uses less power and is easier to use. You don't have to use a controller and instead use a remote like device.
Although I don't think Sony will quit console business, SPAM-FRITTER-123 puts forward a good point.
Sony as a company is worth less than $14 billion. An investment into a console could cost them a half a billion in losses alone from console sales, not to mention investments into operations and infrastructure the first year! That's to say 1/20 of what Sony is worth in the first year alone. Ouch!
With new president and investors hawking the turn around,...
Personally I think MGS4 is a fantastic game, but it's impact on next generation isn't as impactful as some of the other games that spanned several sequels and grown to be huge franchises.
It's kind of like Super Mario Galaxy. An extremely highly rated game (probably the highest of all games discussed so far) and bought by tens of millions. However, I haven't noticed any shaping of the industry.
The games on my list:

I'm a huge fan of StarCraft and was really anticipating this game. Sadly it never was!
I'm currently reading some StarCraft novels so this is right up my alley. SCII expansion is gonna be awesome!!!
Smart Glass can give you the appearance of real time, similar to how cross game play or remote play works on PS Vita. Many things also doesn't require real time interaction.
StarCraft for instance doesn't require lag free input. CoD probably does.
Remember using Smart Glass to play a game, you will be connected to your local network, so input lag is significantly minimized on top of that.
Also, I don't know how voice recognition i...
