@LevelHead:
I couldnæt agree with you more. I believe a society we should have free speech, but what you do in your own privately created community is up to you. You have the freedom to choose who you want in your circle.
The problem is that the gaming community still consist of immature people, note immature and not age based. You can be considered an adult and be immature!
A lot of people I meet, in gaming and it doesn't just appl...
@Pekolie:
You have the freedom to not listen to Fox, but you simply shouldn't censor them because you disagree with them.
Once you walk down that path, how do you justify censoring one type of information over another?
Who should make that choice?
An example of this is *if* I disagree with Christians (Muslims, Buddhists or whatever), should we then censor Christians?
I like to have the OPTION to choose w...
It is the hate for MS, while Apple and Google is the darling of the industry.
I can only imagine what would happen if let say Ford was sued for only using Ford motors in the cars they sold!
Such a case would never win in a court, yet we allow the same to happen to MS with Internet Explorer in the EU!
Also, why aren't we complaining about games can only be purchased online by PSN, Xbox Live or Wii ware?
Yet, we complain a...
@hawkboi:
"News is a collection of facts. You said yourself it is opinion, not based on fact. So Fox news should be called Fox Opinions. The fact they call it news makes what they say a lie."
That is besides the point. Freedom of speech is the right to express opinions, even if they are against what the general public believes.
Back in the 1800s it was believed by many that slavery is a right and was the general public view. Two hun...
Sony understood gaming with PS1 and PS2, but no longer does!
Even worse, Sony no longer understands how gaming business works as evident of recent business moves with PS Vita and PS3.
Heck, even the Gaikai purchase seems fruitless to me.
The one thing Sony do have going are their game studios freedom. That is a big kudos to Sony regardless of it being accidental from poor management or just simple smarts.
What a load of crap!
You actually believe being censored.
"It allows your media to blatently lie to you."
No it does not! It allows you to state an opinion, which by itself cannot be a lie. It is an opinion not a fact!
If you state something that isn't an opinion, it must be truthful or you are no longer protected by free speech.
You are wholly confused about free speech and I suggest you do mor...

I'm not here to own anyone as that doesn't exactly score me any points anywhere. I'm more interested in a meaningful and interesting discussion.
"they used the profits from ps3 for gaikai, which might be a better outcome in the long run for them and us."
What profits?
The PS3 lost more than the gains from two generations of Playstation, including PS1 and PS2.
Besides that, ...
I own the Illusive Man signed lithograph and the Garrus one.
I want the Illusive Office one!!!
At this point in the console cycle, sales, market share and even software releases are already pre-determined.
Normally gamers shouldn't care about sales, but they are directly linked with developer support and hence software releases.
Apart from that, to me it is interesting, because it is straight competition at it's finest. Products with very similar attributes from different companies duking it out!
@PoSTedUP:
So you got a profitable PS3, that you cut the price to gain market share at the end of the console cycle i.e little future profit.
Then you have a new product that is at the start of the cycle, but instead of attempting to get market share you go for profit.
See something wrong there?
It is essentially backwards of how the console business has worked for decades. It is stupid and nobody does that, but Sony.
...
@GrandTheftZamboni:
"When I started gaming, my main concern was to buy a console that brings most money to shareholders."
No, it is to buy a console that gets the type of games that I enjoy playing and the gamers that I enjoy playing with.
The other is just curiosity! Nothing wrong about that and you are free to ignore the shareholder interesting information.
Advertising is an investment into the future!
At the current rate, Sony will soon have no investment left of PS Vita. Sony should take Nintendo's lead and drop the price of the PS Vita NOW!
Short term loss, for long term gain. That is how almost all major businesses operate. Even the almighty Nintendo dropped their price, the CEO openly admitted he screwed up and lowered his own salary. Now, that is a well managed company unlike the other one in serious t...
@rpgsaviior:
That is what people said about FPS on consoles too. The controller pad can't do it, only to see it become the go to platform!
Don't just look at what is RIGHT in front of you.
Sony should drop the price NOW!
Sony is no stranger to video game business and should know full well that adoption is the key to courting developers.
No amount of begging will court developers, because the equation is pretty easy. It's Investment equals profit!
If it ain't, nobody is going to be your friend!
The longer Sony waits, the worse it's going to get. Nintendo understood that and immediately dropped the...

What did I just say?
"People with limited imagination tends to dismiss things."
People with limited imagination tends to dismiss things. When it starts to arrive, everybody will be loving the seamless syncing experience.
@yeahokchief:
You really need to google "capitalism" and the idea of pricing is set to what the market can bear.
GameStops provides thousands of jobs and stimulates the economy. They aren't parasites!
If you want to talk about parasites, look no further than a large amount of people on wellfare!
I can only remember buying ME3, and then mostly cheap budget games and even then, that has been few and far between.
Xbox 360 sells the strongest during holidays, because that is where there user base is. MS always post very strong numbers during the holidays.
Last year, during the holidays MS outsold the competition almost 2 million consoles worldwide without a price drop. That is like 180k consoles a month!
Well $50 does matter, when your closest competitor is actually $130 cheaper. The Nintendo 3DS doesn't require a memory card, and cost $169 and has more games.
Value is features people *care about* relative to price. Either you up the features or you lower the price to increase value.
@LOGICWINS:
It's not that $50 is going to break the bank, but it is do I really want it for that price. Lowering the price makes it more appealing even ...
