@Soldierone:
That is exactly the sort of company that would sue!
One desperate enough and also one that has assets to sell to others that will do it for them!
If OnLive can't do it, it is hard to believe Gaikai is in any better shape. Sony should have bought OnLive out of the two, at least they could have paid far less for more customers. A desperate company will sell for cheap!
@ShinMaster:
But the PS Eye + Move combo are better than "Kinect, at least when it comes to gameplay."
That is not entirely true as the excellent voice control in Kinect makes certain games pure bliss, such as ME3. There are also great games like Dance Central and Kinect Sports while PS Eye + Move has no real games worth speaking of. In fact, it has no real use at all at this point!
@TheRealSpy:
You said it so well, I'm just going to repeat it!
"it's sad how little you people understand business. Rare wouldn't have gone with MS unless they needed to be acquired. and MS wouldn't turn down KI3 if they thought there would be a large enough market for it.
there isn't some sinister plot to deprive ppl of franchises they enjoy. it's business. and despite the irrational mentality of most people here...
Your comment is *yawn*!
I think what you have received so far is the most any add-on has ever received. Most likely to get the kind of support you are looking for, the Kinect must be bundled with every console sold. Most likely not until next generation.
Kinect is the best microphone for voice recognition in games I have ever used. It is wonderful when you are watching movies or listening to music. No more fumbling for the remote or drained batteries in the controller.
There are also a few notable games on it too!
By definition, the future cannot be now.
I believe Yoshida believes in the wrong future. If you can't provide a good experience now for people on fiber optics, I see bleak future for cloud gaming. Especially since OnLive essentially imploded!
Two years from now, there will be a $400 million write-off.
Until it actually is a comfortable to use, and is cheap enough, there won't be any adopton.
The worst thing about it, is that the technology wasnt ready so this push actually hurt the industry. Consumers will for a long time think 3D will continue to suck....
Then you should ask yourself how Gaikai is in any better position. Here you got the largest Cloud Gaming company, with the better selection and more customers crumbling!
I question if Gaikai was a good move for Sony at all now. Before it was on the premise that the company was in decent shape, and just didn't have a real business case (which is really pretty big), but now it might be that it wasn't even in a good shape at all.
@CmonBeReal:
"DUMBEST argument thus far. The "community" would also be accessed if they let you play multiplayer games for free. The community IS the multiplayers. DUH."
It is only dumb to people that don't understand and talk out of their behind.
The community is shaped by it's members, and as such two communities aren't necessary the same. It's like saying the hood has the same community as the upper clas...
@morganfell:
"So it's party chat vs free online with tons of games, add-ons, and discounts from PS+."
Nice try there! The comparison isn't even valid.
If we want to talk about offerings, you should also talk about all the stuff Xbox Live offers includings all the apps that Sony does not, all the demos available for every single XBL arcade game, party chat, beacon features, more streamlined interface, an actual usable browse...
@darkride66:
A lot of the ads are also discoverable for me, as most of the ads are relevant. There is nothing wrong with curated ad. That is how I find stuff.
In contrast, you pay for cable TV, and get ads and they are rarely relevant.
MS has enough cash to build it themselves. They already run massive cloud infrastructure with Azure. MS would have almost zero need for OnLive.
I doubt it is them. It's most likely some capital investment firm.
@Godmars290:
One only wants to see and hear what wants to see.
Actually, I think Nintendo fans aren't even represented here. Most of them don't buy games because of graphics, but rather game play.
I think a lot of the typical fanboys (which tends to be older demographics than Nintendo's customers) all left for PS3 and Xbox 360.
I think fr0sty said it best, one tends to ignore a system's weakness and embrace it strengths because one likes it. It's human nature!
@darthv72:
I think MS is shifting gears into full force on next generation. Halo 4 and Gears of War: Judgement will be the last big "exclusive" games on Xbox 360.
@cgoodno:
I think Nintendo actually has the most to loose, due to marketshare and how MS is grabbing onto casuals while Sony more onto hardcore.
However, Sony's strength is Europe (which is a close race with MS with advantage to Sony) and Japan so in a...
That's pretty nice!
The original size of 150MB was tiny.
To that I have to say:
"Gears fans, you're going to love Judgment. It's in great hands," Chmielarz said via Twitter about 1 p.m. EDT. "And don't worry, you'll hear about my plans soon enough."
I think Gears of War: Judgement will be fine!
@morganfell:
"As a gamer I know that Sony understands what I want and at the end of the day that matters more."
I agree, but in addition I want the company to flourish so it can actually sustain it's trajectory. Only giving me what I want without consideration for the people that work for you isn't good for anyone in the long run.

"I am thrilled Sony has purchased Gaikai because as usual they are forging ahead and ...
The fact that MS spent gobs of money on researching ergonomics for the original Xbox controller.
My hand cramps when I play with the DS3 and it takes a lot longer for my hands to cramp with the Xbox 360 controller.
