People would absolutely "rage and sue" if Xbox Live suffered an intrusion comparable to the PSN hacking.
Whenever personal information is compromised, the company targeted will be open to litigation. That only makes sense, considering the value of such information and the potential costs to those who could become victims of identity theft, credit card fraud, etc.
It may turn out that there was no neglect and that Sony is no way liable. But imagining...
My god man, what are you talking about?
Because Nintendo was only a respected developer before they produced Mario games? So, what, when they were making trading cards?
And Microsoft isn't "all about the money?"
And Mario and Pokemon are "gimmics" [sic]? Why?
And the 360 is an RPG console?
Are you, by any chance, a visitor from a parallel universe?
I'm actually glad to see someone say this about the original Sonic titles.
Don't get me wrong. I loved them at the time. Casino Nights Zone in particular was as addictive as its name suggests.
But the author is right. The platforming was atrocious. It was twitchy and imprecise and endlessly frustrating. The game also loved to use cheap shots to rob you of your rings. It was a manipulative, shallow design that just happened to be incredibly addictive. ...
Interesting article.
The author makes a good point that there is something fishy about retailers dropping the Wii's price now rather than waiting for the expected official price reduction in May. Could they be trying to liquidate their stock of old Wiis to make room for a new model? Who knows, but it's interesting to speculate about.
I agree that a redesigned Wii is unlikely to have HD output. I think that it's pretty late in the game to make that...
I think that's a pretty weak comparison.
Sega rushed the Dreamcast out the door when the Saturn was still young because the Saturn had been selling poorly. It was a desperate gambit to avoid becoming irrelevant and it failed.
Meanwhile, Nintendo is releasing a new console after the Wii has completed a six year run, the traditional length of a console generation and after tremendous sales success.
It's Sony and Microsoft who have broke...
This. All of it. What STK026 said.
What Shok said.
Also, like all of this information, the $400 price tag is pure guesswork. Other sources have it as $350 or even $300.
I'm not sure if this retailer is actually privy to any privileged information.
They don't have any information that couldn't have come from current rumors about the console.
Also, look at the price: 4995kr is about $817 US. There is no way that is reflective of the eventual release price.
They have the 320GB PS3 bundle marked at 2749kr, which is about $450. That's a mark-up of about $100 from the US price.
So ...
Do you honestly think Zelda would be better with an M rating? What would Zelda gain from that?
I think gamers need to understand that each game has its own tone an atmosphere, and that gore or violence or vulgarity aren't right for every game.
Some games do benefit from being rated M. That's certainly true of the GTA series, Doom, etc. But going mature won't improve a game that already stinks (see Dante's Inferno).
Meanwhile,...
Midnyt got what I was saying.
I can understand being annoyed by the addition of new characters, but your choice of words ("casual," "colorful") made me think that you were attacking Sonic Colors for not being "hardcore" or saying that the Wisps were somehow too cartoonish for a game about an anthropomorphic hedgehog.
Yes, because colorful cartoon characters have no place in the hardcore Sonic universe.
Are you a Shadow the Hedgehog fan by any chance?
To War Princess's credit, Sonic was the first to turn into a Werehog and imply a disturbing inter-species relationship.
So, uh, he has that going for him.
But, yeah, as far as gameplay is concerned, Mario has been the innovator.
I haven't bought a 3DS yet, but if this game captures even a fraction of the magic of Mario 64, I am sold.
It would be, but if the game "doesn't really involve HD," then I doubt that's what it is.
Maybe they're working on a 3DS game? It seems a bit late in the lifecycle to be starting production on a new Wii game.
^ This.
Porting Twilight Princess to the Wii made sense. Porting Skyward Sword to the new console won't.
If Nintendo's new console really is more powerful that the 360/PS4, they are going to want launch titles that really show this off. Slapping HD on a Wii game and then holding it back another year after its completion is only going to irritate customers and make the console look underwhelming at launch.
Can we confirm that Nintendo fully owns the Eternal Darkness franchise? Can they make an Eternal Darkness game without Silicon Knight's cooperation?
Just because Nintendo published the first game, that does not guarantee that they own the right to future games in the series. See: All of Rare's franchises.
I'm not saying Nintendo doesn't own the rights, just that this needs to be clarified before we put too much faith in this rumor.
Theaceh:
1. How do you figure? The audience for consoles has been pretty fluid in the past. Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft have all seen their markets share grow and contract with time. I don't see any reason to assume that these gamers are suddenly locked in to their console of choice now anymore than the popularity of the SNES kept people from switching to the PS1 or the popularity of the PS2 kept people from buying Xboxes or Wiis.
2. This could be a vali...
I'm not sure you actually read what I said. I didn't say anything specific about the Wii2 graphics card. I said the system would not be a "X360/PS4 with a better graphics card," meaning it's not just going to be a more powerful traditional system. That statement makes no claims about how powerful the graphics card will actually be.
The graphics could could be much more powerful than current gen systems, or it could be only marginally more powerful. I do...
Retro is a first party Nintendo studio. Nintendo owns the majority of their stock. They only produce games for Nintendo systems. There would be no licensing issues.
That said, I hope it's something other than a new Metroid. I love the Metroid Prime Trilogy, but I think it's only fair to let Retro experiment with other franchises. They've earned it!
Seriously.
And at least three of each of the previous models of the DS.
I wonder if 3DS sales will pick up around the holidays, or if they are going to have to consider a price cut. Who knows.
