Well, it won't be released in North America until April, so it's too early to say.
It did sell fairly well in the EU though.
From Wikipedia.
He says as much in his post.
Well, this is all a rumor right now, so we don't know for sure that it will be on the Wii U. (Although I wouldn't be surprised if it was.)
Whatever consoles ultimately get it, I don't think we'll see GTA V released much before the Wii U. Nintendo has confirmed that the Wii U will be out before the end of the year, and GTA V was only announced a couple of months ago and still has no confirmed platforms, so we probably won't see it until the third of fourth ...
Wow. I never thought I'd see C. S. Lewis quoted in the comments section of N4G. You've really elevated the dialogue, Shok.
All joking aside, I absolutely agree with Lewis (and the article) on this point. An obsession with maturity is a sign of childishness.
Personally, I'd like more creative stuff AND a new Zelda.
These things are not mutually exclusive.
I actually didn't mind the wolf sections, but otherwise I agree.
You can argue over which Zelda game is best, and the argument will be totally subjective and meaningless, because being "good" or "better" is incredibly hard to pin down.
However, what is clear that that Ocarina of Time was more revolutionary than Twilight Princess. Most of the core mechanics used by TP (and hundreds of other 3rd person 3D games) were created or perfected...
I'm going to wait for the price.
If it's $299/$349, I'll think seriously about it, because I'm actually pretty happy with what I've heard so far about the hardware, third party support, first party plans, etc.
However, if it's more than $349 I'll probably wait for a price drop.
Kirby GameCube is now Kirby Wii and it's coming out this fall, so it will be released. It just took a fantastically long time.
DQX will probably show up next spring/summer and be one of the final major titles for the Wii.
Four platforms? Did I miss a major announcement?
Yeah, it's definitely not going to be an exclusive, but I think it makes sense to release it across all three systems.
The only reason the Wii didn't get GTA IV was because the game would have had to be significantly reworked for the more limited hardware. That won't be an issue for the Wii U.
Really.
I'm a pretty big Nintendo fanboy, but I'm totally fed up with Nintendo of America's localization policies.
If you have good games that are complete and are already being translated into English for European release and you have a largely empty release schedule, why the hell would you drag your feet about bringing those games to North America?
It's just dumb.
It seems like there's a major gap in opinion between journalists for professional sites who were at E3 and tried the controllers for themselves, and amateur bloggers who are basing their opinions on press conference videos and speculation.
Those who have tried the controller have nothing but praise for it. Those who are basing their opinion on the press conference hold it in contempt.
I think this is evidence of a failure of communication on Nintendo'...
You're right that the Wii wasn't future proof, but that's because it was designed with a typical 5 or 6 year console cycle in mind.
Nintendo never intended the Wii to still be breaking sales record in 2011. That's why they had its successor ready to show at E3.
It seems like some individuals are desperate to spin Wii as a failure, even though it was the sales leader for four years, its lifetime sales are still well above its competitors, and, ...
The general consensus from the gaming press was that Nintendo won last year's show.
Most journalists seemed to find Microsoft's long, maudlin Kinnect pitch unsatisfying, and Sony's conference largely underwhelming.
Meanwhile, Nintendo unveiled a handheld that could provide glasses free 3D, announced the return of several classic franchises (Kid Icarus, Pilotwings, Donkey Kong Country, Kirby) and showcased more info on several other major titles (M...
Yeah, this sounds fishy to me.
The Sonic titles on Wii have sold well for Sega.
I'm guessing the real reason why there is no Sonic Generation on Wii is either a) that Sega is already starting to treat it like a dead system or b) because they are working on a version for Project Cafe.
No way they opted not to do a port for purely aesthetic reasons. There has to be some financial motivation.
Amen sir, amen.
I can't believe I had to scroll down several page lengths before I saw Miyamoto mentioned.
I don't know what constitutes a "hero," but there would be no industry today without Shigeru Miyamoto, and I'm not sure how many other developers we could say that about.
I imagine that it will be released late this year or early next year.
If they don't get it out by the first or second quarter of next year it might get overlooked in the hype for Nintendo's new console.
(Well, in the US, anyway. They could release it in 2014 and Japan would still buy millions of copies.)
What?
I don't see how your metaphor applies to this article.
How did Sony call Nintendo's bluff? By releasing the PSP years before the 3DS so that it would be $100 cheaper by now? If that was their strategy, that was some amazing foresight.
I assume you're actually talking about the NGP vs. the 3DS, but it's way too early to be declaring victory in that fight. One system is young and the other hasn't been released yet.
Yeah. I was disappointed.
I was hoping he would say Bowser.
