Why would you take a game inspired by DotA to a conference(GamesCon) which is also visited by Valve, who presents DOTA2? It seems they don't want their game to sell more than a handfull of copies.

Why did people downvote this guy? Modern Warfare is definately a bigger and more known franchise than Call of Duty by now. Even though Black Ops sold better than Modern Warfare 2, which is mainly because of the popularity of Modern Warfare 2, it doesn't mean it's more known amongst the fanbase. Wait and see the sales of MW3.

Another reason to ignore the mentioned sites. You cannot use "indie developer" as an excuse every single time there is a lack in development which in this case is the graphics.

2011 - That doesn't exacly call the need for retro style graphics which belongs 30 years back in time. Why would you limit your possibilities, for a niche that won't sell. If they had faith in this project and their graphics style, they would have upped the price.

It looks like a combination of Pokemon & some random online 2D RPG. It doesn't look very "amusing" to play, yes - i am talking about the graphics which in no way can be justified by being a 2D RPG title. It looks terrible and how a game can score 8.8/10 with these graphics, even if intended is beyond my knowledge.

Guess I can block future reviews from "OMGN" if this is serious.

No matter what Blizzard does, if they put a $120 price tag on D3 it will be huge.

Sorry, but they haven't "tainted" with any financial implications. They offer a service that was, to be fair - large - in Diablo II. Obviously you have never played Diablo or Diablo II but read magazines all day and make assumptions.

Crysis 2 is one of the worst FPS games in ten years. It is terrible, the graphics was worse than Crysis and the gameplay reminded me of some korean MMOFPS.

Better cooling (My PS3 is heating more than my Alienware Desktop PC)

Better hardware so we do not need as drastic "dumb down" from PC to Console.

Mouse + Keyboard support on all games

Optional dedicated server support.

@Bladefist

That was hillarious :)

They mentioned possibilities for console versions, however - it is not on the table and it would take them quite some time to perfect it to a console environment. Also, they need to decrease graphics, blood & gore so it can fit into a TEEN-category to cater the casual kids, then they need to limit the amount of settings available, implement controller options and lower the amount of games modes from three to one 'Terribad'.

You will not be able to purchase gold from Blizzard and neither will you be able to sell gold. So the value of gold will not "sort itself out" neither would it if the possibility mentioned was possible. The value of gold will be decreased as every major item will be sold for $. Players who are not using the $ auction house will not be able to acquire some of the better and more rare equipment as they will never be put for sale on the gold auction house. Sure, farming it and trading ...

He is right. People can complain and deny that players actually want a $-based auction house, but it's obviously true if you know the widespread item-&-goldselling business in Diablo II. As mentioned, it's optional, however - what isn't mentioned is how the dollar currency will affect the gold currency. Unless Blizzard has prepared gold-only purchases of a large scale, they might have a problem with the gold economy as the value of gold will decreasing so rapidly that you are ...

Calling your website "gaygamer" is just mocking yourself, how patethic.

They won't as the voices are copyright of Blizzard. However, they hired some really good voice actors, known ones!

It will be good.

I have purchased an iPhone 3GS. I will purchase the next iPhone available, simply because it offers me the precise service that I seek. Others purchase Macbooks, iPads and other Apple products because its a product that they seek, simply put: you purchase what you need.

I would never purchase a Macbook, as they do not provide me with the service I need in my everyday.

Apple consumers aren't brainwashed or have become a cult - they purchase a product that ...

Their beta will probably run 2-3 months, expect a Q4 2011 or Q1 2012 release.

I think everyone knows that the community can create fantastic content and I am more than sure that Blizzard knows this. Hint: Warcraft III & Starcraft II custom maps.

If you knew how much goldselling/itemselling that existed in Diablo II, you wouldn't be so surprised they are cutting off all ends to possible exploits/hacks.

Blizzard Entertainment runs a business, they ain't a entertainment service, even though the name suggests it. It's only ...

If you take away the killstreaks entirely, which was something that made Call of Duty 4 so popular, what major difference does CoD have to other FPS?

I think killstreaks are fine, if they are balanced. Take for example Chopper Gunner. The amount of kills you can get with this machine is insane. The bullets are what, 1500mm that has such power that hitting nearby objects of a player will cause it to splinter into thousands of small bits that tears you apart?

They won't succeed versus Call of Duty if it's not on Steam.

Isn't Diablo 3 Multiplayer only? In that case I don't see the problem with it. If the single-player(if it's there) requires you to be online, that would be some "breach" of previous Blizzard standards.

But hey, they added a dollar store.....wouldn't surprise me today :/

DOTA2 will be released in the Fall of 2011. If you didn't know, there is held a game conference, GamesCon in Germany in August which will host a tournament for pro DotA players. This means, that they are capable of hosting matches already. The beta will come shortly after GamesCon, one or two weeks after and that shouldn't last long as they have currently patched the game to match the version of the original DotA.

It's in its finalizing stages, expect it in Fall o...
