Dota still has tournaments and a 10+ million fanbase. you are unaware of this, as you no longer follow the scene. Stop saying "dota was cool in its time" - A dota team has just been bougth for $6.000.000 in China.

It's huge and DOTA2 will be even bigger.

The sequel won't yield new maps. Dota is highly competitive and is strictly balanced to one map which everyone is very keen on learning to use to max potential. You do not see this in LoL as it's a casual game without pulling and denying, so there is no point in trying to balance a map in that game.

Yes it is. Call of Duty is a casual game and I enjoy it.

For some odd reason, I think it's unfair to judge game companies. Rather than having to patch up your game, find the people behind it and drop a lawsuit. Surely, the webpages that host these cheats can be closed if Activision drops enough investment into it. I am not saying a tremendous amount, but put a lawyer on it and it will slowly fade out.

It's funny, the hate towards Call of Duty seem to match its rising popularity :)

People were hating on MW2 for SO long. Black Ops then sold 25million copies the year after.

"Let's sue Notch(God) because he got a game named Scrolls". Without being certain, I think they lost some decent support there. From me, especially.

Besides having rethougth their killstreak system (Killstreak rewards won't add kills to your current killstreak). Alot of balance has got into the game, weapons and perks mostly.

Surely, alot of customization will be added aswell and I am almost certain they will come up with new modes and objectives.

To have reached the 8th game of the franchise, I doubt they will make anything groundbreaking, hopefully they prove me wrong.

I find your interest in keeping your game copies in a mint condition absolutely fine. However, seeing as you are not intending to sell any of your games, devaluation of them shouldn't be a dealbreaker to you. I am sure that if you are a collector freak not interesting in selling your items, you would not worry about the value of your games, as long as you find interest in just being a collector.

I don't mind publishers attempting to close the pirate market. DRM & ...

Prioritize. Either you get A,B,C or you get D,E,F. If you got money for A,B,C,D,E,F - get em, if not - too bad.

Why are you annoyed by something that doesn't affect you? The people who buy used games don't contribute 0.001% to future development of the games you play.

Rockstar Games? This is done by a PC custom MOD.

@ATI_Elite:

It will probably beat sales on every FPS coming out this year. Red Orchestra & the most successfull MOD to it, didn't even sell 5% of what CS:S sold.

Yes, with Sledgehammer and Raven Software on board - I am sure we will see another great addition to the Modern Warfare franchise.

Let it die?
Counter-Strike peaks at 60k+ concurrent users, sometimes close to 80k.

There is no destructible environments in Counter-Strike and there will not be any in Global Offensive.

5276d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

Nope. No Ironsight No Sprinting No One-Slice Knife Kills.

Just pure awesome Counter-Strike with simplistic features, as we know it.

Counter-Strike PC still has more users than BF:BC2 PC, Red Orchestra(and all it's MODS)PC and ArmA2 PC combined.

Counter-Strike is a wonder of the FPS genre. It's the biggest FPS on PC, simply.

So there is no dedicated servers for the PC version?

No RAGE for me. Or wait, yes...there actually is alot of RAGE for me, since I really anticipated this game.

BlizzCon and QuakeCon actually have something worthy of offering at their Cons. I doubt Notch will have much to offer, also - A swedish developer, making his Con in America?

Come on Notch, you can do better than this.

Tessellation cannot be utilized very well in a Steampunk universe. It's city combat, there are no fields or large scale zones that needs tessellation.
