This should be a clear sign that gamers are looking for something other than whats being pushed out the door. I wish developers and publishers would take note and stop reformatting everything for mass appeal and start giving fans what they really want.
Wasteland 2 was a great game and another triumph for kickstarter, but sadly this may be the only way certain games get made because the industry is unwilling to take chances or be unique.
You seem to forget in those days options were limited, only a few stores like funcoland and toys'r'us had large quantities. Now bestbuy, target, walmart all carry a fairly large inventory of video games.
Personally I never preorder and have never had to go to more than 2 stores the day of release to get what I want, and even then its less than a mile out of the way.
Rumors are to be expected.
It's a bit surprising they haven't announced anything yet. The game was a smash hit and they confirmed they want to make it a franchise, but then they go completely silent about it for 2 years.
Fans are bit edgy considering we get piles of sequels (no one asked for) every year, but ones that stand out (like this) seem to take forever for no apparent reason.
Its not a mystery why these companies are chomping at the bit for this to become a reality, they get a bigger slice of the pie since theres almost no manufacturing or distribution costs, and they retain complete control over the product even after you bought it.
Whether all digital is the future or not, statements like this are about pushing their agenda.
Fantastic Game! I highly recommend people check it out.
Stop buying them so they will stop doing these lame cash ins. It will be over 2 years old when this comes out, it was on both ps3/60 and pc and currently ~$15 on amazon. If you haven't played it by now its clearly wasn't high on your list so just grab a cheap copy, and don't reward them for reheating leftovers and serving you the same diner the next day.
If Sega wanted to cash in on "nostalgic games from yesteryear" they could have, gee IDK, MADE A SEQUEL!
Some of us have been waiting years for them to release updated versions of their classics. Streets of Rage 4 would be a Day 1 buy for me, and I'd SELL MY SOUL for Shining Force 4 on PS4, but they'd rather churn out werewolf sonic games and other **** all these years.
I gave up hope when they butched Golden Axe Beast Rider. That wasn't...
NO, you really shouldn't...
Single player story focused game scrapped for "upgraded" multiplayer affair.
....no ty
If its really pushing the limits of computing then this could be a great benefit like the first crysis, but more likely its in vein of AC:unity and just really shoddily coded.
The truth will come out, PC users will pick it apart with a fine toothed comb, so most will just kick back and wait to see.
Haven't played it but... WTH!
This was the EXACT same complaint in DA:Origins. It should be standard for any rpg, we shouldn't have to point it out...again! They better add it to the first dlc or patch.
This only happens because people believe hype and pre-order or buy day 1. The second they pushed the reviews past launch everyone should have known and refused to buy it. They don't have to rush and fix it when they already have your money.
I'd rather them not bother with a rerelease. If you were interested you would have played it by now, the VERY few who haven't and want to could easily pick up a copy on almost any system for much cheaper.
The graphics would be very minor and there's little else they can do. Just leave it alone.
Has a very strong WC/SC vibe, some of the heroes are are almost copy paste with a new outfit. And a few of those soundbites are insultingly unoriginal like: "Did someone call the doctor" -medic and "One shot, one kill" -sniper.
Seriously this is recycled stuff some some of their other projects, no doubt about it.
Along with their terrible LotV announcement, blizzard is really pissing me off now.
Greed. Just like EA, they want you to use their distribution system and then they don't share any revenue and keep 100% control. But gamers don't want a bunch of steam-like programs clutter up their desktop, so its gonna mostly fail just like Origin. With a few stanch defenders claiming its not so bad or even "good."
Meanwhile the rest of us will sigh that this is being allowed at all, since unified gamers could easily prevent this crap by refusing to buy.
Likely, but it won't matter. Just because it hasn't been broken yet doesn't mean it will stay that way. A high profile game like this is exactly what will drive the teams who crack these things.
It'll happen, it always does, even when companies said its unbreakable it still got cracked. The cycle will continue, just means some will end up waiting longer.
Stop teasing me! T_T
Good thing I'll be playing it maxed out on PC, the way it should be played.
Makes me sad that no one is willing to take a chance on these. Imo it would be like printing money, but sadly the few times the DO look at classics its to strip the name and churn out some generic mass-appeal game that is nothing like what we wanted.
Nosgoth being the perfect example, I would buy a new soul reaver without question, but they decided to go the mmo route instead so I have no interest.
Possible but it wouldnt be out till the end of the year, not worth talking about for a while.
