I actually liked diablo 3, but its waaaaaaay out of place at number two.
Not at all. We're just in a holding pattern waiting for the next jump to go mainstream. 4k is getting close to being ready. The g-sync, freesync is still too new/pricy for most to jump on. And the 14-16 nm graphics cards to power all this got pushed till next year, with it displayport 1.3 and hdmi 2.0.
Many pc gamers like me are just waiting to make a full jump instead of taking 1/2 steps, while also getting a good deal.
Kickstarters always get a flood of donations at the start and end, this is not unexpected at all. Who still doesn't know this?!
Last system I bought was ps3, I also have a dreamcast from day 1 and shenmue which was fantastic. Hurl random labels all you want.
It is shady to "partner" (their word) to make a game yet demand consumer hand outs first. This isnt a low budget game that needed kickstarter, in fact its likely to be AAA and LARGELY funded by sony. But they didn't talk about that, they downplayed corporate involvement and used Suzuki to plead with hardcore fans to "get this ma...
Whats sad is some of you don't mind shady practices and misleading of consumers.
Blame the consumer huh...
"digital first enables us to do something new, bold and exciting"
“We are building a live, expanding and evolving world of assassination..."
This is meant to hide the truth behind pretty marketing hype. They are changing the formula, plain and simple. No one asked for it or wants it, but they're doing it to fit their plan... more revenue.
"$60 and not a dollar more gets you full access to the experience.”

I'm not sold on VR with consoles. PC seems to be the safer route. Raw power and more support. I hope this does well, but i'm not putting my money on it.
Weak. All hype, no hint of story or glimpse of gameplay footage. And a year and 1/2 till release seems way too long considering how much talking they've been doing about how "great it looks" and all that jazz. It might turn out good, but I cant get excited for this.
While I have wanted shenmue 3, this is not what kickstarter is for imo. Its one thing for a developer to make a spiritual successor that publishers are too scared to pony up the money for, but this is an OWNED IP where sony/sega will have input, yet they want to see green first.
This doesn't give the creator more control, it only lowers the financial risk for the ip owner.
Sounds like a bully tactic to me. How bout we just buy nothing period and let capcom go under. That would be my counter-threat.
I'm tired of hearing about this. Graphic don't make a game, and this one is likely to be amazing. Not to mention modders are going to go nuts after the release so anyone looking for eye candy will have it. But whatever, you don't like the graphics, don't buy it, I'll be playing it regardless and laughing at those fools.
As a PC gamer I'm fine with this. The larger budget more than makes up for slightly weaker graphics. If its a great game the pc community will handle visual upgrades far better than what the developers have time or interest in. As long as they give the pc basic features we expect like quicksave, keymapping, ex... then its fine uniform other features.
"If there is a race to zero, who wins from that?"
...gamers!
A couple million is a big deal, if it wasn't then companies wouldn't be after every dime like they do, what do you think online pass and preorder bonuses has been about?!
Not to mention these kickstart funders are basically pre-orders, many more sales come after release especially after good buzz and word of mouth.
And lastly there still is the big picture, many of these can become franchises. The small companies can grow over time, merge and we might...
This is the saddest generation of gaming. If Snes had remasters it would have failed miserably, mario 3 was amazing, but mario world was better and was a reason to buy the system.
But some of you just like throwing money away, you'll learn the value when your older and wish you hadn't been paying "new" prices for games that came out years earlier that could have been bought for super cheap.
Not sure I trust the current Bioware with such a task, rather they hand it off to Obsidian again but with a decent development time.
Hate 20 pages, but tbh its pretty accurate with the picks.
These are just ports to the 3ds, and maybe they would do more if sales are good.
This has nothing to do with them bring back old ip's for a current gen sequel like many of you are hoping.
I too was once like you, but face the facts... its not happening. Sega is sadly too stupid to make a new Shining Force or Streets of Rage. Don't give yourself false hope.
Lets see if they can get 7 right first... I'm excited, but this isn't squaresoft, square-enix have a lot to prove.
