But they could have set the goal at ~200k then, if it wasn't reached then no one paid anything. The goal they set WAS reached so they got the money... and are now asking for more.
Based on the article "game was originally much smaller and due out last year," I would have to say the rage is justified. Everyone wants to make AAA titles, but if you're using KS you need to set realistic goals and deliver that. You can expand the next game as you build trust.

It will get a slim, but I don't think it will be this year. As they state the 14nm fabs are a huge deal, but with the wait there is now a serious log jam for production on those nodes. Even if full production comes soon, they should easily be booked throughout the year, so unless sony already has a deal in place, its not likely.

Sega abandoned all their popular IPs and has churned out bad-to-mediocre games since. Nothing suggests they would have success jumping back into the hardware market even if they could.
And again, this machine is not by sega, and really has nothing to do with the dreamcast.

This isn't just some RTS game, I'd say MOST the people buying this want the conclusion of the story. Broodwar and on have left cliff hangers so this is the first real ending since sc1 in '98.
Multiplayer was built heavily around competitive play, so unless you're REALLY good, you likely don't spend much time on that.
Just beat it, excellent game. Worthy addition to the series and so much nostalgia... they brought back every unit in the campaign.

Has everyone suddenly forgot they have shown NOTHING about this game, yet taken every opportunity to hype it. EA sure knows how to spoon feed their sheep.
Really hope people get behind this. Harebrained Schemes has done a fantastic job with 3 Shadowrun games and this looks to be another great revival and an example of how kickstarter can be used the right way to get the games we actually want.
No one should be surprised by this. Square Enix has a ridiculous amount of games in development right now and a poor track record of releasing things, this will be the first of many delays.

This could be great as it would allow them to overlook TOR, and just restart KOTOR as canon. They could build it into a real game series from then on like it deserved, instead of the unfinished 2 and mmo3 that happened.
