The combat was fine, though it does make me wonder if they are considering reintegrating melee combat. Deus Ex 1 had an assortment of melee weapons which when added with strength augs allowed for 1 hit kills, that was of course removed from HR in favor of a kill animation ala assassins creed. Personally I'd like to see that return as no matter how "cool" the animation is, it loses its wow factor long before the first play-through is over.

I have played dragon age, and the last 2 haven't been that good. Gaming critic are bias for AAA's at best and corrupt (paid off) at worst, GOTY means nothing anymore.
For a company that used to be praised for story and innovation, they do little to no talking about that or how theyre winning back ppl after ME3. That wasn't just a minor mistep, there was a MASSIVE backlash, and a little reassurance wouldn't hurt, but they keep talking about graphics instead.
Yea all they talk about is how it looks, yet no one was complaining about the graphics of ME3, they are either clueless or purposely choosing to ignore all the past criticism.
This is a stall tactic to make some quick money. Nvidia cant get the the fabs to ramp 16nm production till 2016 so they basically have no new products for this year. However since the last titan line sold well (even at grossly inflated prices,) they'll throw this out to keep people talking.
btw Im not hating, my current and previous 2 gpus have been nvidia. I was hoping they could find a way to keep advancing, but sadly i'll be waiting a bit longer.
This game is really good, its a lot like the x-com remake, turn based squad combat. But more rpg elements thrown in like fallouts 3's attributes and talent points. Unfortunately the PC version was pretty buggy, there have been several patches though so this would be fixed. Worth checking out imo.
Story Quality: WTF

Do your part and downvote this crap.
This would only lead to more pirates, MAYBE some of them will actually buy the retail copy and let it sit on their shelf while they install their hassle-free cracked version.
But that's still just a maybe...
So people have been duped into caring about an EA subscription?! They can take that trash to any console they want, I wont be paying for it. Guess people forgot who they're dealing with.
I'd be more impressed if they said:
"Mass Effect 4 To Have Emotional Believable Story With Realistic Ending"
Let's be honest though, this is not a major release.
It's been hyped for sure, but many have long believed it was gonna fail to deliver. I guess marketing dollars just cannot be ignored huh.
Why is every single review of this being posted as news, if I was interested I'd go search for reviews of it. Seriously slow news day or what?!... really nothing else to talk about?
Roots?! Its nothing like their previous games. I wont say its bad, but their certainly is a lot of filler. Its time consuming without necessarily being fun.
For example, I left the final 3 dragons just cause I got too bored and didnt wanna waste the time. I could kill em solo if I had to, but even with 4 units, the over 100k life bars is just a pointless grind. That's not challenging or fun, just busy work.
It clearly took a page from skyrim, but I would have pre...
Why doesnt he do that with metal gear 1&2, and leave solid alone. Those 2 were good games, but even old school fans like me likely wouldn't have a problem with significant changes. Considering the leap, one would have to assume a large departure from the original, so it could try some new things without alienating fans.
Worked fine for me 5 mins ago.
What I hate is how short-sighted game makers are with building brands. Even if A:CM had sold better, which franchise would make more over time, say when you add in sales of Colonial Marines 2 vs Isolation 2?
I imagine if both product lines were to continue as as a semi-yearly iteration like assassins creed (which IS what most businesses want,) fan disfavor would easily cut off future sales of the marines line. But most sadly seem to only care about the quick buck, if they ca...
Why was this approved... it happens all the time, buyer gets their money back EVERY time cause it was listed in 'console'. This is not news.
I'm not seeing what you guys are seeing. I skimmed it but this looks really bad to me. Ridiculous amount of running, didn't even seem like he was ever in danger or had an objective, and the character models are really dated, like graphics from 10 years ago.
I love the idea of it, but this is not what I imagined from what other games are able to achieve now.
I don't know any PC gamer who doesn't have fraps. I don't see this being a big deal, its been available for many years, and its free. Sure some might not use it constantly, but they have it or don't care about fps. I would have to question a 'pc gamer' who is suddenly awakened by this new built-in fps counter.
Nope, people even buy broken AC games like unity so why shouldn't they keep pumping those out year after year.
This part made me laugh though:
"we sometimes iterate on franchises and sometimes we give them time to breathe and time to grow, or time to rest."
Not so definitive if it still needs patching.
