The game "Lunar Silver Star" was made by Game Arts and Studio Alex for the Sega CD, Sega Genesis and Game Boy Advance.

I did a quick lookup on "Game Arts" and they appear to be still developing with games with their last release being November 2015 (Grandia II Anniversary Edition for PC). "Studio Alex" is not around anymore since they went bankrupt.

What is interesting is that "Game Arts" parent company is "Gun...

UWP is proprietary to Microsoft and any games developed for that initiative has to pay Microsoft a royalty.

You can develop for Microsoft Windows and not pay a royalty to Microsoft unless Microsoft has a hand in the development (eg funding) and/or publishing. Of course, the dealer such as GoG or Steam does get a cut from each sale but at least there isn't any monopoly like you would have with UWP.

As an example, I ca...

Nioh is developed by Team Ninja and published by Koei Tecmo and Sony Interactive Entertainment, but I cannot find any mention of the game being funded by Sony.

@Mr-Dude

If you are looking at Playstation exclusive games made by "From Software" take a look at the following URL: https://en.wikipedia.org/wi... In the list, not all games are exclusive such as the Dark Souls series although Demon's Souls and Bloodborne are.

The majority of games made by "From Software" are exclusive to the PS1, PS2, PS...

If trophies are done properly then yes I would agree with you but some games have trophies that are almost impossible to get unless you are a completionist or have religiously followed a walkthrough. Even then you sometimes have to ask yourself if spending the extra time is really worth it.

Can anyone tell me how you can pause an online multiplayer game without annoying (I am being nice here) the people who are in your avatars vicinity or actually playing with you? Of course, if the game has PVP or you are in the middle of a combat situation then you are an easy mark although I am quite sure if you explain the situation to a PvP or NPC player they will let you off the hook. 😉

Actually, there is an easy solution it's called logging out.

I have only played a few hours of Dragon Age Inquisition and I do think it is an excellent game. Unfortunately, I prefer The Witcher 3, Bloodborne and Dark Souls 2 more. I have also been holding off "Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor" and Dark Souls 3 since I don't want to get side tracked.

There are just too many really good games available for the PS4 and I even have a backlog of PS3 games (Dragon Age: Origins comes to mind). Now, this coming lineup of PS4 game...

While I do agree with the core feature of what you said I do think people should look into what a so called season pass entails for any game before making a decision to buy or ignore. Just buying a season pass in the hope of something not actually specified is IMHO stupid.

This is not to say I am aginst season passes since I recently got them for Bloodborne (The Old Hunters) and The Witcher 3 (Hearts of Stone as well as Blood and Wine) and saved myself some money but I did ...

Actually, Nier Automata is slated for the PC but there is no release date.

If Platinum Games really want to give Microsoft the finger then they should be using the Vulcan API's which are multi-platform and sell the game via Steam in both Windows and Linux iterations. That way they don't have to pay Microsoft any royalties.

Why?

The PS4 and the XB1 were not marketed with external drive support or backward compatibility or even HDR. At least the PS4 like the PS3 gave you the option of replacing your storage device without voiding the warranty from release.

I don't believe you!

Oh wow, let's bash Sony for not implementing HDR as well on all PS4's (err why not PS1's) on initial release /s

The article is an opinion piece. The writer is certainly entitled to his opinion but we as the readers are certainly entitled to agree or disagree and in this case there appears to be a lot more disagrees.

In games like Skyrim, you can pretty much save anywhere which can be very useful especially when you are just about ready to fight a dragon.

I don't run autosave in Skyrim since my PS3 version has what is called "the six MegaByte bug" which effectively freezes the game from seconds to a minute when your saves exceed 6MB. Basically, I save manually - think old school gaming where it is very embarrassing when you die and you have not saved for a few hours then y...

I only use rest mode when I am downloading a game other than that I turn off my PS4 when I am not using it.

The USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports o the PS4 and S4pro support speeds up to 5Gb/sec (approx 600MB/sec) although that is dependent to the SATA bus. The PS4 has a SATA2 bus ( up to 300MB/sec) and the PS4pro has a SATA3 bus (up to 600MB/sec). So no there will not be a USB bottleneck.

Unless you have a very high-speed SSD (average brands are about 500MB/sec) the SATA2 bus of the PS4 will be the bottleneck. Considering that with a normal HDD has average reads between 80MB/sec and 110MB/sec...

I suppose people will have to think seriously about backups and the possibility of restoring in case of a disaster.

BTW. Even after years and years of warnings as well as horror stories it appears a simple thing like backing up and testing your backups still hasn't sunk in.

You could try the following. Install a huge game from media onto your storage device and patch the game.

Now take that patched game that is on your storage device and your game media to a friends place. This now begs the question in the case of a game that has an online capability:

1) Do you need to sign into PS+?
2) Can your friend sign into PS+?

Obviously, since you did install the game from media you will need the media to ...

Consider most AAA games are between 20GB and 50GB (The Witcher 3 is approx 51GB and that includes all DLC). If you also include Indies and none AAA games sizes can range from a few hundred MB to 20GB with a mean of approximately 12GB although that does depend on what games you like.

Just for the sake of an argument you only get AAA games with a storage size of 50GB then the most games you could put on a 3.9TB HDD (assuming 100GB for overhead) then you would need more storag...
