First I've heard of hunted, bethesda is fast becoming one of the great publishers ( if there can be such a thing ), they are like EA once was....how I miss the days when you just buy a game based on a publisher logo and get quality.
EA used to be the Roadrunner of games
let me put it another way
60 frames in a second, is vfairly fast, each individual frame of that 60 frames is rendered every 16.66ms, they can react in 7 frames out of 60 in a second...that's f-ing fast
EDIT:
The "humans can only see 60 frames a second" is also a myth, people can visually bench up to 350 frames a second as far as brain recognition, as far as reaction, it is less so, the 100 ms above would be slow for a fighter pi...
The reaction time of the fastest professional CS:S players is 100ms... so 22ms is actually pretty F-ing good, not much to add on top for the average user, most people would be 200ms + so the 10% is not that big a deal, it's games we're talking about after all, I don't think anyone will care how fast you bench a god damn casual game...
There is no way in hell this guy is going to get another job in the industry, this kind of publicity JUST AFTER LAUNCH is not good at all for the credibility or the person letting fly on industry secrets etc
I'm not saying "PC > console !!!!"
I was also a console and PC gamer,
I have owned ( i'll include handhelds )
Gameboy
SNES
Gameboy Colour
N64
Gamecube
PS2
XBOX
NDS
NDSi
Wii
and all the while i've been a PC gamer, and the ONLY generation of console's that doesn't appeal to me is this gen.
Even on day 1 of the 360......
You realise that 3ghz means absolutely nothing, a 3ghz q6600 is half as powerful as a 3ghz i7, there has been signifcant debate over the use of ghz as a measure processing power for years and that they should instead refer to the bus speed, which is also as useless in determining processing power, it all comes down to architecture, and if you think a cell is on par clock for clock with any modern cpu then you are fooling yourself, a fast dual core will smoke the cell in gaming, the only thing...
DX11 features are confirmed, they will announce them after 'summer'....which I assume means in the U.S, there was a post on incrysis.com about it
Yep, it's pretty awesome, your in the middle of a level, everything is already rendered as your moving, water and trees and wind and all, then CTRL+G and your running around blowing stuff up in the editor, good times, I loves me some helicopter vs. Hunter alien + friends action
Maybe on console's you'll get painted on shadows, but your used to that so it's not big deal.
"Facts are that multi engine cannot compare with first exclusive engine. "
That too is a console phenomenon, on PC the multiplats scale up and there is not necessarily any reason why a multiplat cannot look as good or better than a PC exclusive.
Fallout 3 on PC looks as good as any PC exclusive RPG i've ever played, and Farc...
B.S it is, it's one of the best engines around, you just haven't seen what it can do on PC.
Even ME2 on pc is not as good as UT3 graphically, the games that don't look good on it are a result of other programmers not making use of it or making sloppy games eg. ME1
O.T
From the article;
Their complaint is that an easy to use multiplat engine has finally been created, and so now they complain that we might get a l...
RA3 was not misleading, the actual game had probably 2hrs of cut scenes in it and almost all of them feature near naked women, they also appeared in the HUD in the game for instructions in missions, with a very deliberate shot of them sitting at a desk with a reeeeeeeeeeeally low cut top etc, so the box art if anything was an understatement
and RA3 was one of the best c&c games..hardly tedious
As long as there are bots for offline mode ( which i'm 99% sure there is ) then I will eat this game up.
Not a single game for me, september is going to be brutal though
@kevnb
Elemental: War of Magic is a turn based RTS/RPG (???) by stardock it's coming out soon, keep an eye on it, there isn't proper footage release ( placeholder engine used for demo's while the game is developed ) but knowing stardock it will be amazing
Impluse is the best digital service, after downloading, you don't even need to use the app to play the game, so you can download it and reinstall it without ever using the impluse client, that is freedom that you will never get with steam.
But I still prefer retail
1. Steam is a rip off, I have yet to see 1 game that is cheaper on steam at launch than a physical copy I can order online...
2. The control of it is in your hands; I can insta...
Sony amp, 5.1 5x100watt, Sansui speaker set, 180watt fronts, 90 centre 80 surround, some idiot market the speakers down from $600 to $70 where I used to work, lol, bargain, but that's actually my second stereo, my main one is a Yamaha. 400watt fronts , 180 centre, 150 surrounds, one of the tweaters is blown thought because i'm using a crappy kenwood amp, so right now it's the weaker system that works 100% > the better system that unneven sound. Sony KDL-EX500 tv, Sony BDP-S360,...
did I say that?
No I did not, I clearly pointed out REASONS why there won't be a big market for 3D TV's, tv's are not something that people frequently update.
3D TV's are also a rip off, so yes 3D is a fad and not for me. But don't take my word for it, just watch Sony's stock plummet as they wast more R&D on things no one will buy
"It's a great time to be a gamer
Once 3D finds its groove in gaming...
"3D tv's are so great people will get a second job to buy one!!!"
I just bought a 40" 100hz sony bravia for my room, i'm all good for another 10 years, tv's are not something that one need upgrade frequently, same thing with stereo's, you buy a several thousand dollar stereo with the idea that it will last you forever, I don't think people will be too hasty throwing out their new plasmas and lcds no, need for 3d for me
How is it ignorant, perkel was trying to downplay a list of over 500 games that support 3D, as t850 said, the console version of 3D will be at least as bad as the worst supported 3D games, on PC as the hardware is not set, you can enable 30 without any loss in I.Q and if you have a decent video card you can run any current game and still get 60 frames, the only reasons some games do not work properly in 3d are for the reasons I have written above, no game is "emulated in 3D" as he t...
Yep day 1 for me too, it sounds awesome, I don't think the fact that it is multiplat will be a reflection on the gameplay or the visuals, a post from incrysis.com:
"- The demo version ran with a good framerate even though it was not optimized for performance.
- No story or multiplayer details were revealed.
- You can see the the first-person character's body, just like in the previous Crysis games.
- The draw distance was said to be "...
I'm dying for this game, Strategy games...the last frontier
