Thats better news than I expected. I thought that the 1080p would be just for the HD dvd player. So dvd's and games are upscaled to 1080p. Thats incredable. Thats got to piss off sony extremest. Isn't that ironic. Microsoft will be the first next gen console that outputs 1080p. Incredible. I wonder if they had that up their sleeve all along. I knew a long time ago that the 360 was capable of outputting 1080p due to ATI's advanced GPU, but to implement it for game/dvd/and hd dvd out put is fan...
WOW...keep the good news coming. Blue dragon and a core 360 in japan is 230 american dollars. and the hd dvd player is 160. So for 390 you can get blue dragon, an hd dvd player and a core 360. Unbelievalbe. And with blue dragon being the 3rd most anticipated game in Japan. Sounds like a beautiful deal for them. Thanks Microsoft.
What factual errors? Lots of Laughs. Who would vote lame on this article. All gamers should be very happy with this news. Especially those who have a 1080p tv or intends on buying one over the next 4 years. There are no mistakes in the article that I read.

You have so many lies mixed in there its actually hilarious. People will read for themselves and arm themselves against people like you with knowledge. Pretty much everything you said in your post is the same arguement sony made with the emotion engine. Saying it was 10 times more powerful than a super computer. Remember that one buddy? Some of us fell for it and were angry after we saw it wasn't even 1 time as good as a low level computer. So here we go again. Same ole same ole. The ...
Everyone can read for themselves and educate themselves...thats the beauty of the internet. The cell has one PPU and the SPE's run off of the PPU. The 360 has 3 PPU's optimized for Game coding. And the cell's PPU has 2 long threads and the cell's Spe's have 1 short thread each going to the PPU. Thus causing bottle necking.
Here are some links informing you on how this works and comparissons.
Priceless.
Hurry up Microsoft....Announce the price at TGS so sony fan boys can "Hush". I believe you when you stated months ago that the...
I already have money paid on the pre buy. 10 a.m. I'm going to pick it up from EB games. Now everyone on my friends list can see that not only am I the TopGamer...but I could be Americas Next "Male" Top Model. Ha ha ha ha...I just can't wait to put my face in games. I know Rainbow six uses it. I know other games from this point on will to. I would love to see it in sports games. Boxing, basketball, ect. Thanks Microsoft. Yet another fantastic innovation. Its a great time t...
Is it more powerful than the 1 core cell processor with 7 spe's? And if the cell is more powerful, why aren't high tech computers using its tech with the cost being obvously much cheaper than the quad core cpu's. I'm just curious. I know the 360's tri core cpu structure has 3 times the general purpose power of the Cell. So does that mean the quad processor is 4 times as powerful as the cell? And why is he quad core clocked at a lower rate than the tri core cpu stucture of the 360? Anyone...
I'm sorry but you don't come accross very credible. Just my observation of your fanboy rants.
If you indeed had an xbox and you indeed have a 360. Then you know like the rest of us, the 360 is a major leap foward in every area. Online is a major leap foward from the original xbox and graphics are a major leap foward, and the gameplay experiences.
And you can't judge the ps3 untill you play it right? Does that make sense to you? If you are dissappointed in the 36...
The 360 uses ATI's avivo tech thats in their cutting edge computer video cards. I know you have been on this site long enough to see the many links I have provided about that.
A. All it takes is a firmware update in the dash. I'm sure the HD dvd player will come with a firmware update on a disc for those people who can't connect to the internet.
B. MS targeted 1080i and 720p for "Games". But the console is more than capable of displaying 1080p. ...
The video game industry has a life cycle of 5 years per console. Tech changes that fast. Tech changes so fast that when the xbox was released 2 years after the ps2. It dusted the ps2 in every area. I stopped playing my ps2 after the xbox came out. It was hard for me to play games on the ps2 after witnessing the major jump in the xbox. Sony is really good at holding on to its old tech and stretching out every penny. MS in my opinion did the right thing. Focus on the next best thing. X...
Who gave you a diploma? xbox sold 24 million and the ps2 sold 100 million (actually its shipped but who cares) 24 times 5 is 120 million ps2's. Lots of Laughs. but this is what certain sony fans do. Exaggerate and lie. And the reason why sony won the last gen over MS is because they had a 2 year head start, they had road the wave of success from the ps1, and had the support from every developer under the sun.
This time the 360 launched 1 year and a year and a half in ot...
Now, word has emerged out of Japan that the 360 HDD will be on the cheaper side. According to Kotaku, sources in Tokyo's Shibuya shopping district have learned that Microsoft will start selling the 360 HD-DVD add-on for around 20,000 yen on November 22. The price means that the add-on will likely go for around $199 in the US, given the exchange rate and previous pricing schemes for game consoles in Japan and the US.
Did I call you a fanboy? If so, I apologize if I offended you. I was just giving Jay advice on controlling his temper on these forums and to ignore those who put him down. I don't think I mentioned your name. I don't have anything against anyone on here.
And I'm getting the ps3 and Wii as well. I'm just a little skeptical of sonys choices and I'm vocal about it. If I spend over 600 dollars for a ps3 and games, I should be able to speak frankly about it. I have never doubte...
Don't let these people get to you. Thats there whole intent. They bash you and try to get you to bash them...then they cry to the moderator asking for bubbles to be taken away. But in the same breath, they forget who started with the name calling and bashing. My advice to you is let them make an butt of themselves. No need to respond to their extreme fanboyism and name calling. Just don't stoop to their level. I tend to get defensive but I never stoop to their level.
But o...
my source was eager to mention its 1080p capabilities and Windows XP Media Center Edition compatability. Woo.
For those of you too lazy to type in "19800 japanese yen in US dollars", or your currency of choice, that's about 168 bucks
So....if someone wanted to play HD dvd's and utilize the media center extentions with 1080p playback....they could buy the core 360 with the add on for less than a stand alone HD dvd player....and you could still play games...
According to an official release by Microsoft at their Tokyo Game Show 2006 press briefing, the Xbox 360 will be able to support 1080p games and videos. According to the press release, the fall update will usher in the upgraded resolution capability.
