I will stick to my 4080 super because this is absurd to pay $700 for a closed ecosystem device. At least on PC we have the freedom but to be in the PlayStation ecosystem and pay just to play online and without mods is ABSURD I was a longtime PlayStation fan but this is Sony flexing its muscles again because there is ZERO competition so they feel no pressure
Phil and Xbox screws gamers again by their inability to compete
$699 is such a stupid move by Sony. This isn’t going to sell, it’s only targeting core gamers because most casuals won’t be dropping $700 plus tax on this. $599 should have been the sweet spot. Sony is becoming obnoxious like they did after 2 successful generations (PS1-2) but sadly this time there is no competition from Xbox to bring them down and give us the effort they put into the PS3 generation
They introduced XP boosters because they were making their games more grinding on purpose. The artificial enemy leveling system made sure no matter what you ere always a level or 2 below the enemies. 3 day early releases, 5-10 different editions of each game for release
UBI and WB games needs to be bought out by someone. Both are full of greed
I am just astonished that MS wants to make as much money as Xbox as possible yet so many of their older games aren’t on PC

Don’t play with me boy!
I really am surprised how there hasn’t been an class action lawsuit for that against these companies
Ray tracing is so overrated because it comes at the cost of performance. And it’s so hard to tell the difference when playing the games. I have a 4080 super and even than I don’t turn it on
Yes your u are right but the monetization and this level of greed wasn’t present in 1997 or even 2007. Very recently have we started to see aggressive monetization
Ultimate teams in NFL, FIFA and NBA generate billions. This wasn’t the case 15 years ago. So you can’t compare what existed in 1997 to 2024 where suits are running companies simply pushing for as much profit as possible
I hope it sells well don’t send a clear message even though we just had wukong generate 800 million on a 70 million budget. I’d game has quality it will sell. Sony should of all companies understand that better than anyone else since their bread and butter has been single player story driven games
I am not surprised that concord failed yet wukong generated 800 million at launch because it’s clear that the ‘games as a service’ model is becoming a bubble that’s likely to burst sooner rather than later. Developers, especially big ones like Sony, are investing heavily in this approach, which seems absurd when their strength has always been in narrative-driven games with high production values. These types of games might sell fewer copies compared to ongoing service-based titles, but they s...
Obscure
Those licenses from Disney aren’t cheap. That’s why insomniac and Sony spent that amount of money. Same for UBI and starwars. These IP’s cost a lot of money to work on
On topic:
There seems to be some misunderstanding about Concord’s development budget. The claim that it reached $200 million is an overestimation. In the early stages of pre-production, game development typically involves a smaller team of about 15-20 people....
Hopefully this game does really well and Sony can understand where their priority should be and it’s definitely not on games as service
That is very true because PlayStation exclusives are judged and reviewed much more harshly compared to Nintendo and Xbox
Ubisoft's *Star Wars Outlaws* is currently topping the UK physical sales charts, drawing attention to its early success. However, some are questioning why the highly anticipated *Black Myth: Wukong* is nowhere to be found on these charts, overlooking the fact that *Wukong* was released exclusively in digital format, which explains its absence from physical sales rankings. In contrast, *Wukong* continues to perform strongly on digital platforms like Steam and PlayStation, generating over $...

Basic isn’t 8/10 though. What you described screams 6-7/10. Still not a bad game but also no where near good enough. It’s average so basically it’s a UBI game
That’s so true. We throw around masterpiece, game of be generation, game of decades and perfect scores. They lost all value and impact. Now if a AAA game doesn’t get 9’s many people just say it’s a game not worth playing. I remember when 10/10 was something shocking. I still remember the conversation around MGS4 getting 10/10 and how there was shock factor too. Now almost any AAA game that comes out will have few perfect scores

HD2 made its money and profits. For GAAS game needs new content and HD2 just don’t have that. Most GAAS studios have 2 teams one that’s working on the main game and another working on new content. Once main game is done majority of them are moved over to content side. But that’s where games which have successful launches fail long term. The same team that made the core game has to move on to make new content while also updating/patching the game. Work flow is re...
A **masterpiece** is a work of exceptional quality, skill, or artistry, often considered the best or most outstanding work created by an artist, writer, or other creator. It can refer to a piece of work that demonstrates mastery in a particular field, whether in the arts, literature, music, or craftsmanship. Historically, the term was used to describe a piece of work submitted by an apprentice or journeyman to a guild for approval to become a master craftsman

Sony should consider reworking *Concord* to include both a compelling single-player campaign (around 15-20 hours) with a hero-driven narrative, alongside its multiplayer component. Initially, many believed the game was a single-player experience, only for it to be revealed as a 5v5 hero shooter. A balanced combination of both modes could appeal to a wider audience.
A relaunch in summer 2025 could be a great opportunity for a fresh start. We've seen successful reboots wi...
Sony has just announced the PS5 Pro at a $700 price point, but without a disk drive or meaningful upgrades to the DualSense controller (like improved battery life or drift-resistant sticks). While some PlayStation fans may defend the price, it’s important to remember that this feels reminiscent of the old days when Sony became overconfident during the PS3 era. Back then, they even suggested people “get a second job” to afford their console.
Now, with no strong competition f...
