The game development industry is facing a serious challenge with the exodus of talented individuals due to the increasingly unstable job market and toxic work culture. While this instability is concerning, another major issue is the shift in hiring practices. Instead of focusing solely on bringing in the most qualified or talented candidates, there seems to be an emphasis on inclusivity—hiring based on race, sexual orientation, or gender identity. While diversity is important, it feels like t...
If Microsoft can manage to consistently release 2 AAA and 3 AA games every year, then the Game Pass service could definitely be worth it. But that’s a big if—Xbox has not demonstrated the ability to manage its studios well over the past 12 years.
Also, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see Game Pass prices hit $29.99 before 2030. When people say the service is ‘underpriced,’ it catches the attention of the company, and naturally, they’ll consider raising prices. Let’s not forge...
The original purpose of Xbox Game Pass was to give players access to brand-new Xbox games on day one, which was a huge selling point. However, with the cost of game development skyrocketing, it’s becoming clear that this model might not be sustainable unless the service charges something closer to $29.99 a month in the future.
Gamers are understandably frustrated because the price keeps rising, and it’s obvious that it will continue to do so as costs for everything involved...
Switch will be $499-$399. If given the opportunity to charge more Nintendo is the one company that will do so. Their premium sku I’ll be $499. This is the same company that’s charging full price for straight up ports
Give it time in the rest of the world hopefully it does better. Japanese market is really different compared to the west. If Astro bot does poorly than we know Sony will push GAAS even harder
All these companies want to squeeze very penny out of their customers instead of over delivering like a lot of them used to do
The PS5 Pro is priced at $699 plus tax in the U.S., and it’s even more expensive in other regions: around €799 in Europe, CAD $899 in Canada, and ¥99,980 in Japan. Some are suggesting trading in the original PS5, which most of us paid around $500 plus tax for, and getting roughly $350 in return. To make up the difference, you’d have to pay extra for the PS5 Pro, which doesn’t even come with a disc drive (that’s an additional $79.99 plus tax) or a stand, which is another separate cost. ...
Ubisoft has really gone downhill because of the Guillemot family’s bad decisions. They’ve completely lost touch with what gamers actually want, focusing way too much on microtransactions, buggy releases, and XP boosters. It’s like they think these quick cash grabs are the future of gaming, and they don’t care that most of us aren’t comfortable with the idea of not owning our games anymore. The stupid comments they’ve made, along with the idiotic choices, have led to a massive drop in their st...
It doesn’t matter what we say—opinions are always divided. Some will argue that Sony has done nothing wrong and that this console is meant for those seeking the best, while others will say it’s simply too expensive. The reality is, without accountability, companies will continue to act in their own interest. We’ve seen this before: Xbox, when it was the market leader, charged for everything, including access to free-to-play games. For a time, even using Netflix on Xbox required Xbox Live Gold...
It’s not just about money its all about laziness from Sony because they feel no pressure from their competition
Sony just announced the PS5 Pro for $700, and I’ve got to say, I’m a bit disappointed. While it offers some hardware upgrades, they completely ignored two major issues with the DualSense controller—stick drift and the terrible battery life (around 4 hours of playtime). For a console this expensive, you’d think they’d fix these things, but nope.

Recently bought XSX version for $19 something. I think they will make improvements because they realized finally that there is a lot of hunger for their games and they need to do them right instead of quick crash grabs
They admitted their mistakes and said we will use the feedback to do better. Let’s hope for the best. Would love a classic Konami collection. Their games on SNES and genesis
They should do twin snakes and portable ops so we have a complete collection
To go private they would need a lot of money so a better option is get acquired by someone and get rid of the current family who controls the company. Nepotism in that company up and down the leadership ladder
That’s true and whatever they know they charge for and get away with they will. This isn’t just about PlayStation that’s gaming in general
Oh yes that’s coming. You are being in the low end with $80. GTA6 could be the first game to do $99.99. Sell less make more. With budgets for games going to in 100’s of millions we will see the cost go higher. That’s just the sad reality. Way too many suits got involved with our hobby and realized this industry was making billions more than any other entertainment industry. And now it’s all about spreadsheets
No assumptions since Sony themselves said some partners meaning not all will release free updates. And we have already seen next generation updates cost money coming from PS4 to PS5
Yes you are right we should enjoy our hobby and I am not upset. Just really tired of all the greed that has entered this industry over the past 10-15 years. Just look at sports titles which have become mini casinos with all the micro transactions
Did I read this right that some of the partners will release free updates so others might charge for it? This level of greed is getting absurd. Many games got paid next generation update so I guess now that’s a thing
A crash would bring on real changes but a crash would never happen because of how big this industry has become. End of the day way too many investors get into buying stocks only for money. They could careless about quality of games all they want to see is a spreadsheet full of profits
Bought mine even though I currently don’t have a PS five I just wanted to support this game
