I agree as a console gamer for over 25 years I switched to Pc less then 2 years ago. There is nothing cheap about Pc gaming but There is more freedom like mods and much better more helpful gaming community.
Steam is great but if there a game you want sometimes after Sony releases the game it could take 6-9 months before it receives any worthwhile diacount. Sony is in a win win situation here. They relesee their games twice and both times charge full price.

I think for consoles price is the biggest factor. Gone are the days where anyone can announce a console at above $499 price. Way too many casuals will not support a platform that may cost more. So we as gamers might be more willing to pay higher end prices but casuals still out number us by millions

I remember when people were asking why Sony were releasing it and who is this for. Even I didn't think it would do this well. I think with steam deck there is just a much better market for handheld now. That's why even MS/Xbox are developing one

It just depends on how good of a patch is made for the game. Even on pc we have bad ports no matter how strong your Pc really is. This game in particular looked great on base consoles so for it to look bad on pro is a concerning sign. Bigger question is does sony really cares? Because with yoshida leaving soon we don't have any of the older playstation executives left

Gamers who buy the ultimate editions should stop. Wait until the content is released and If it's worth it pay extra few bucks. Steam has recently said they will be implementing season pass changes. Now publishers must give a window for when the DlC will release, what will be included in the Dlc and if it's delayed more then 3 months they could issue refunds. We need better consumer protections
