The PS4 sucks.. The XB1 sucks...
To me... These articles suck.
@Baka-akaB
Like I said this is all about purchasing habit and intents.
For my purchasing habits it makes sense. Doesn't have to make sense for everyone.
How is that different from PS+ or GwG?
Every time you buy a game, you are taking a chance that someone may give it away free at some point in time... Or they may not...
I guess to me, no one is forced to buy the EA Access service so if you feel it works for you all the power to you (I subscribed as I buy every EA game pretty much day one). If it doesn't well, that's what you feel is good for you.
The two consoles are taking a different approach on their architectures.
PS4 is focusing on graphical fidelity. Killzone and infamous are very nice looking games.
XB1 is focusing on other parts of games. DR3 - 1000's of zombies on screen at once. Forza drivatars. Crackdown massive, detailed explosions...
Which is better? That is more an opinion then anything. Personally, I would like to see both, but that is not happening on either ...
I guess some people have nothing better to do with their lives.
Personally, I just enjoy games... 720p, 1080p... Don't care so much...
Gameplay, story, sound, environment feel, control mechanics... Now those are things I care about...
Graphics are pretty much at the bottom of my list... I would rather play a game like Minecraft (8-bit graphics) then a game like Rogue Warrior (Good graphics).
Ultimately, these subscription plans all come down to purchasing habits and intents.
If you buy/intend to buy a lot of EA games then EA Access is great. If you want to play a lot of EA Games, can't afford buying a lot of games, and are willing to wait for them to come to the vault this is great.
Otherwise, this is probably not a good service for you. One thing is for certain here though, if it is successful I can see other big pubs doing the same.
I think re-masters are ok. But I would like to see more "new" content now and re-mastered content further into the generation when the features and functionality are known and matured.
Right now it should be about new content. I bought new consoles so I want new content.
Re-mastering now makes me feel like they just ripped me off to buy a new console and are ripping me off to replay a game that only played through 1-3 years ago.
That comment was loaded with facts... NOT!
Same can be said for the PS4 then...
The ultimate gaming destination is Steam on a PC. It is the true place for Indies and always has the most definitive editions of games.
Take away the Indie games and the PS4 is a barren open wasteland of nothingness until 2015...
From what I have seen this looks like the best cod in a long time. (since modern warfare 1)
Yeah, it takes some getting used to but the game has a lot of deep elements and a lot of reasons to replay missions.
600 is probably the price because of Chinese taxes. Region locking would be a Chinese gov't request to control what gamers can play. It is the only console available legitimately in china right now.
So, your post was a complete fail....
I notice that when I am moving into certain apps there are painful pauses but once in there are no issues.
This problem happened for a while during the 360 lifespan as well.
No big deal to me, I just roll with it, as change can often introduce performance issues elsewhere. It will be improved.
Pop in for a last generation re-mastered game on a next gen console? Ouch....
PS Now you rent games for a hours at a time and those games are streamed over the internet...
EA Access you subscribe to a service on a yearly basis where games are downloaded to your console... You also receive discounts if you choose to buy games and DLC.
These services have completely different models. Comparing them is apples to oranges...
The price is reflective of the costs of delivering to that market. For example, I heard that prices for consoles in Brazil are $800...
That is because the government taxes the crap out of every console sale.
People should get all the info before they tell Microsoft to reconsider the price.
It is not like Microsoft is making $200 more for every console sold in China. The Chinese government which is one of the most controlled/managed econom...
Comparing these services is ridiculous.
PS Now is a game streaming service.
EA Access is a subscription service to hook you on their products.
People have to realize that these services cost a lot of money to provide and run.
Sony has to pay for:
- The servers to run this
- The Internet connectivity to provide the service
- The ongoing development of the service
- The electricity, administration, facilities, and management of the service
etc.
None of these costs disappear when they offer games free over the service. So there are losses everytime they do that....
First, we don't pay to have Internet twice. You pay for Internet and then you pay to access gaming services (matchmaking, leaderboards, friends lists, dedicated servers in most major games, chat, etc.) You obviously have no clue how much it costs these companies to run the services provided by Sony and MS. That is why Sony is charging now... Because they would not make money otherwise. XB drove online console gaming not Sony. I can think of no online gaming features that Sony inven...
I wouldn't use the term "letting me down"...
I would prefer to say "not meeting my expectations"...
In the first few years of a console cycle I want to see new iterations of existing IPs or all new IPs... I paid $400-500 for my new consoles... I didn't buy them to play games I've already played before. The trend of remake/remasters is disturbing. I don't mind remasters/remakes but I prefer them later in the cycle when th...
