I see this stuff as cosmetic. It is like packing a t-shirt in with a DVD through certain retailers. Instead this is with certain consoles.
I don't know why anyone cares.
No matter which system I own I would not buy a collector's edition anyhow. They are pure rip-offs to charge you more on a game. People get caught up in marketing hype too much.
After seeing the gameplay from gamescom, I am really excited for this game! Remedy is one of my favourite developers and this appears to be the best of Alan Wake and Max Payne in a new IP!
That is a very good question.
For me. Game announcements aren't as important as what I will see in the next few months.
The reason is simple. Too many games get delayed or cancelled.
I learned last gen not to count on anything. Too Human, Alan Wake, Killzone 2, God of War III were just a few games that got delayed "year(s)". And then games like Last Guardian and Agent never showed up.
To me, no game is rea...
This update is really about multi-media enthusiasts that have their own media servers, DLNA devices, and use the XB as a TV device.
If you do, this update is huge.
If it rates in the 90's on Metacritic and stays MS Exclusive for the generation it has the potential to push sales up.
I don't mean to be rude, but assessing agame's quality based on who is making it and one trailer is a little pre-mature.
Is it a game I will be watching development of? Absolutely...
Is it a game no one should miss? We don't know yet.
I think people misunderstand DX12.
It is not something that is about resolution improvements.
It is a technology to make new kinds of software development better and to improve use of resources on the computers/consoles it runs. This frees up the computer/console to do other things.
DX12 is more about enabling new kinds of games than it is about reaching 1080p and 60 fps across the board.

How much of the 80 million was based on momentum MS had from Peter Moore's leadership? Peter Moore was the one who brought GTA IV DLC exclusively to X360, and made sure Gears was an X360 exclusive.
The relationship improvements with EA and Activision were probably more about Peter Moore than Mattrick. Moore made MS 3rd party friendly. Mattrick kept the ball rolling.
Kinect was something Gates talked about many years earlier. Obvi...

I am fine with delays, but Sony actively markets as if it is coming out.
They just plainly lie about release dates and people think that it is extra time to make the game perfect. In reality they had no intention to release it and are just hyping fans.
There is no way that anyone can prove otherwise when a game like The Last Guardian is delayed for 5+ years.
I don't look at releases for next ...
Sony is just used to lying about game release dates 70% of the time. So much that I just take any release date they state and ignore it.
Killzone 2 - Delayed Years
GT5 - Delayed Years (Had to do prologue to fund devt)
God of War III - Delayed Years
Last of Us - Delayed 6 months
Lair - Delayed Years
DriveClub - Delayed a year
The Last Guardian - Delayed years
The Order - Delayed several months
I am fine ...
The problem with new systems this generation is there is not enough "new" games...
The console manufacturers seem to be more interested in remastering, hd'ing, and re-making games then shipping "new" games...
I didn't spend $400-500 on each next gen console to play a bunch of games I have already completed.
@DigitalRaptor...
LOL... Why do Sony fans not want to talk about 2014? Isn't 2014 the current year?
Sony always makes you look toward the "next" year. And MS will announce their games next year and Sony will delay half the ones you listed and they will be equal again. It happens, pretty much every year...
Ex.. DriveClub, The Last Guardian, The Agent, The Last Of Us, Lair, God of War III, Killzone 2, The Order, GT5, and many...
Ryse, Crimson Dragon, Titanfall, and Zoo Tycoon are all new RETAIL IPs this generation and funded by or with Microsoft's help. Also, before the end of the year they will ship Sunset Overdrive and Project Spark.
How many new RETAIL IPs have Sony shipped this generation so far? And will ship before this year ends?
Yes, I said RETAIL, not a bunch of DOWNLOADABLES... aka Half games...

Mattrick is a bigger idiot than Patcher...
Yes, I would definitely like to see more digital deals. I watch for the PSN Plus and XBL weekly and event deals.
I don't buy physical games anyhow, anymore. That was last generation. All digital for me now. No storage, no collector editions, no lining up at retailer.
Just browse, buy, and download!
I was just thinking this would be a great idea a few days ago. TA is a great Xbox community web site! (and PS trophies)...
The only reason is the exclusives king is because they never ship their games on non-Sony platforms like windows.
I see a lot of comments in tomb raider articles about how exclusivity sucks, then those same fanboys go into threads like these and say Sony is the exclusivity king.
Hypocritical fanboys.
I don't see why people feel they have to take a side. Go and try different consoles if you are able to afford it. You may actually like ...
@saito
Anyone that doesn't want to play tomb raider and uncharted 4 has no place in gaming. Both brilliant games. Only Sony defense forces are not interested in both these games.
I've got more games and consoles then you will ever have little boy. The fact, you rent shows that you are either a little boy or teenager, or a punk with a crap job and no money. You should support the industry by buying your games new rather than renting or buying secon...
Last generation there was over 250,000,000 consoles sold.
So far this generation there is only 20,000,000 out the door.
It is far too early to make a call yet. Last generation, the Wii ran to about 80,000,000 in only three years. Since it has only sold about 20,000,000.
People really need to grab a life. The only console owners seeing their gaming options dwindle are Wii U, because 3rd party support has significantly eroded. And, that ...
