It is hard to justify changing anything I have today for Stadia.
To me, streaming is not going to replace locally played games anytime soon. I still travel a lot to places where my internet access is very limited. So, streaming just is not an option for probably 20-30% of my gaming.
Misleading. The description says Amazon but it doesn't take you to Amazon's site.
You have to click thru to get to the amazon item.
I can agree with your comment for sure...
But, if anyone believes anything from any company's marketing department they should be sent into a mental institution.
I just don't get why there are all these comparisons between local consoles/pcs and Stadia.
First, it should be compared to other streaming services.
Second, I think for most gamers, Stadia is more a supplement to gaming then it is their primary platform. I certainly would not use Stadia as a primary platform. But, I will definitely use a streaming service when I am out and about.
With that said, I doubt Stadia will ever be used...
I am just enjoying this game. Respawn did a great job here.
I would like to see the prices compared to the console versions in the UK,
I am all for Stadia...
I won't subscribe to it myself, but any way to get more gamers gaming is a plus to me.
It is disappointing though that Stadia is having a rough start. Feel sorry for the people who bought Stadia. But, it does justify my choice not to buy it.
I don't think it was disappointing. I was disappointed a lot this gen by MS as at the start of the gen they backed away from first party games and focused more on the media features of XB. Once Phil took over there was a house cleaning exercise. And now, he has steadily improved XB starting with BC and now with their team of first party studios and a huge focus on first party games. They still have work to do.
At this event we saw two new first party games (Ever Wil...
@Rachel_Alucard
People once thought that streaming music and video was too hard for the Internet to handle.
The Internet continually improves and eventually there will not be issues to stream games. Wireless 5G is faster than most ethernet wired networks. I can't remember the last time I hooked up a computer or console to a ethernet connection. That is a thing of the past. I have a ton of devices and none have been hard wired for at least the past 3 years. ...
This is actually a really good model for re-makes going forward. RE2 set the bar for re-makes and I hope that pubishers look at their older IPs and do more of this with them. There are a lot of games that I would like to see from the past re-built from the ground up in future generations using all the capabilities of the generation to modernize them.
I know you are being sarcastic.
But, there is a place for streaming. And, this was once said about music and TV. I know games are different, but digitally, I have a lot of games and literally spend hours keeping my consoles and drives organized. I don't see streaming as a "primary" platform, but I do see it as very handy for "secondary" usage when it is working properly.
And I doubt that it will be working properly until at least...
That is a pretty dumb remark.
I have a PS3 and PS4 Pro. And totally enjoyed these games and will also play them on my XBO X.
Gamers should be happy that the rest of the gaming community can experience great games no matter how new or old they are. Both platforms have many timed exclusives and many games that come to each platform years after the other platform. If they are great games, then gamers should be happy that those games are going to be en...
Yes and No...
They listen to gamers to try to build games that appeal to gamers and get better sales for more profit.
They also build games in a way to be more profitable with features that are designed to take advantage of gamer's pocket books.
Interesting theory, but maybe there is a different demographic that buy XB and maybe GamePass is providing a mechanism for these games to be viable on XB.
Developers and Publishers are not flocking to gamepass with games like DMC5, Metro Exodus, Final Fantasy, Just Cause, Yazuka, Rage, Prey, Shenmue I and II, etc. day one or less then a year off release because they aren't making any money and GamePass is not profitable. They are doing this because it is successful and...
People can debate all they want, but the reality is that this is more about who is forced to be bold in the market and who is complacent.
PS has had the PS Now service since the start of the gen pretty much and it has gotten no where significant.
XB is behind and needed to make a bold move. GamePAss started similar to PSNow in that it had a bunch of average games highlighted by older first party titles. But, by adding first party titles on day one, an...
So what more would be at State of Play?
They showed the new Star Wars game. And it looks good. I am probaby the only person who thought this game would be good, and it is looking good.
Microsoft announced two new first party IPs with Everwild and Grounded. And yes they were nothing like Halo, Gears, and Forza which is the typical whine. And Everwild is nothing like Sea of Thieves which a lot of people seem to like to hate. Sea of Thieves did start of...
I don't see a ton of new coming out at X2019.
There will be the inevitable preview of the games coming before E3. Wasteland 3, Age of Empires 4, Flight Simulator, Halo Master Chief receives Halo Reach, Minecraft Dungeons, Bleeding Edge, etc. Nice to see MS is no longer gameless from Xmas to September. And the highlights aren't just Halo, Forza, and Gears.
Then there will be some choice GamePass titles.
My wish list: Game ann...
By that logic almost nothing is genius.
It does not have to be complex to be genius.
(I'm not saying I agree that the shuffle button is genius, because it isn't)
What probably happened here is a cost cutting exercise.
Lay everyone off and close the studio...
Wait some time for people to be desparate...
Start a new studio hiring people back at less cost...
Tell the public they are a reputable company...
I am no liberal, but these kinds of business practices are wrong. This is an exercise of squeezing people because you know you have leverage. Although capit...
VR isn't exactly selling out everywhere and the companies are not having problems manufacturing it. I have Oculus for PC and it is one of the many dust collecting technologies in my home.
