It really depends what the power advantage provides.

If you see a bunch of games on one console run at constantly higher frame rates in 4K the advantage might translate to success. If the consoles are generally the same at 4K it won't mean a thing.

In the end it is games, games, games. As long as the price is in the ball park, price won't mean much.

To someone who has only a regular HD TV and continues to be that way price wi...

Unfortunately this is not a given. I have a friend that works in tech and his company does not believe in work from home so they are still going to their office "Optionally" or get "unpaid leave".

You do realize that The Last of Us was a game from last gen right? The PS4 version was amazing, but not at all original.

As hololens sits today, it is a full computer. doubt it will be pushed at a reasonable price for at least a few more years.

I am all in for SSDs but I really don't like their limited size. I have 3 x 10 TB drives hooked up to my primary console. In SSD land as the console sit today I can only have 3 TB. I know I am over the top with 30 TB. But 2 TB is not much.

Really it is more a change in approach with first party studios then it is hands-off and hand-on. Previously first party studios had a goal to show off the platform features that MS built into the XB OS. This led to Rare becoming the Kinect Studio, Halo was for the Multi-player features, etc.

But now the approach is that first party studios are there to build games and get gamers to buy into the platform, services, and subscriptions. Therefore the first party studios h...

And if digital gamers weren't able to download for a few weeks should they delay the physical release?

I think not. You choose the format you want to receive your games on, if it takes longer to get the game for whatever reason that is your problem, not everyone else's

When I was buying physical on the launch of GTA IV, the shipper bringing the physical copies to our city got in an accident and the semi-burned with its contents. I didn't get...

In all fairness there is a massive sudden spike in digital use now. Companies are working over the internet rather then locally in offices, kids are sent home from schools so they are streaming way more, and everyone is just using digital way more.

The network companies just need time to up their capacities. It does not happen over night.

To me it is odd that they cannot do a firmware upgrade to make PS3 compatible with PS4 messaging.

I still have PS3, 360, and Wii. I get nostalgia periodically and boot one up to play some games.

Probably. If anything I would want to release my games right now. More people at home, bored, and wanting to play games!

It would be interesting to know whether it is full funding no matter how long it takes or if it is funding to a fixed date and fixed number of dollars.

MS published Alan Wake games (MS owned the IP, but I think Remedy got it from MS). Quantum Break again MS published but not sure who owns it.

Remedy has always been an independent studio.

Control was a multi-platform Remedy game. I doubt they won't be multi-platform going forward.

Not sure you have actually played any of those games at length.

Crackdown 3 was really at least as good as the two previous Crackdowns. Yes, it had the cloud promise that did not pan out. But the SP game was really fun again.

State of Decay 2 is a lot like Days Gone... Not great ratings but it has a cult following. Unfortunately, I am not part of either cult after playing both games.

Quantum Break. I have played Control as well and...

You are always trying to get as many console customers as possible because you theoretically will get more sales of services, subscriptions, and royalties. But if you get 50,000,000 console gamers and 100,000,000 PC gamers and 500,000,000 mobile/tablet gamers you probably won't care that instead of 50,000,000 consoles sold you could've had 100,000,00 if you just focused on consoles.

@iRetrouk
Just look at the revenues that these companies get and how much their revenues increased. Sony and MS revenues haven't shot up because they are selling way more consoles and way more games. Their revenue increases have been mostly attributable to services and subscriptions not consoles and games sold.

The reality is that MS wants to make revenue from games but they don't see hardware as a big profit thing so it really doesn't matter too much how many they sell. The profit driver is service, subscriptions, and royalties from games sold.

A lot of people are making a big deal about who is going to sell more, but the strongest company going forward is the one that can get the most subscribers, sell the most services, and get the most royalites. Number of consoles...

No, the reason that Sony would put GoW on another platform like PC is because it gives them a chance to expand their audience and generate more revenue. They are not doing PC stuff because MS is. They do it because it makes sense to their business.

Wow. Dreams, Ni-Oh 2, Ori and the Willow of the Wisps, and now Doom Eternal. Great games across the board!
