Initial theater releases are getting pushed back because theaters are closed.
Digital releases are being moved forward to take advantage of everyone at home.
Come on.... TLOU2 won't get sales desired?
This will be the biggest game of the year and given that gamers are stuck at home with the social distancing we will be buying even more games.
Yup, and I can play PS Now on my PC so PC is the ultimate gaming platform....
All the PC games + PS Now games + XB games for PC
Why even bother with a console right?
It is a Japanese RPG franchise. That automatically condemns it to some lower review scores.
Unfortunately reviewers don't have to like the genre to review it. Now-a-days FPS, Zombie survival games, and JRPGs cannot seem to get 90-100 Metacritic averages. Personally I add 10 points to every review in these genres.
Still though there are some low reviews on this game for some reason. Guess I will have to read for the reasons.
At least it isn't a stupid article that XSX/PS5 is great/horrible for whatever stupid reason now.
From specs it looks like XSX has leading performance GPU, CPU, memory, and storage size.
Have you even played through Rise of the Tomb Raider?
I have spent more then 75% of my time in the game exploring, gathering, and puzzle solving.
The only thing I would like to see is puzzles that are more difficult to solve.
Winning does not necessarily mean #1. Winning can have many winners.
And maybe they should pass laws for the following then:
1) Limit people to one alcoholic drink per day
2) Limit time sitting in a lazy boy to one hour per day
3) Limit TV time to one hour per day
4) Limit time driving to 1 hour per day to save the environment
5) ....
The world has gone stupid.
There is problems doing anything in excess. Even physical sports can lead to long term (muscle, joint, back,...
Microsoft is starting to deliver games. It is a ramp up but we can see things are changing.
Last year first party studios delivered Outer Worlds and Gears 5 as positive first party games.
This year Ori is published by MS, Minecraft Dungeons, Wasteland 3, Bleeding Edge, Grounded, Flight Simulator, Gears Tactics, and Halo Infinite are all going to be first party games. Ori already shipped to critical acclaim, Bleeding Edge has shipped with low critical ac...
@MrVux000
There is a difference when a second round console is on a path to sell 150,000,000 and a first round competitor comes in two years into that cycle to try and compete AND a second round console that came in after only 35,000,000 sales and ships a year before a competitors console that just sold 150,000,000.
If RRoD doesn't happen PS3 probably would've came in behind XB for the generation. It was that close at the time RRoD started to happen. On...
It is nice, but Sony's exclusives are a pretty tough thing to refuse. For the gamers that know they will buy both consoles there is sense in what you are saying, but, the reality is that you look at sony's game track record vs XB and Sony wins without a fight taking place. Especially this last generation.
Agreed. The first RE I played was 5 and enjoyed it... Then I went back and played the previous games. That made me stoked for Racoon City and 6. Both were epic fails with 6 being the worst!
7 Brought the series back to its roots but I still like 4&5 just as much for different reasons.
Original XB console shipped two years after PS2 that was a for gone conclusion
PS3 87 million, X360 85 million. Not really a difference there. But, yes Sony sold more
PS4 outsold XBO because Microsoft AWOL with Kinect and online
PS5 will outsell XSX as long as all factors remain equal. Currently looks like similar price. And Sony has the good will of most gamers from last gen performance.
There is no way that there is a $100 price difference between the two consoles. If so it is a gouge by whoever does that.
I am not sure that this is a big deal anymore. SSDs have evolved and become much more reliable now.
We don't know how Sony's console is assembled yet but MS has the drive soldered onto a board. That said, they have two boards in the device and the drive is on a board that would probably be pretty easy to just replace.
I don't see Nintendo consoles and Sony/Microsoft consoles going after the same market.
Switch seems to be universal appeal to people who want portability.
Sony/Microsoft are for Home TV market only.
I don't see Switch sales slowing and I don't see Sony/Microsoft having problems selling their consoles.
@maybelovehate
LOL. I have 21 consoles dating back to Coleco Telstar.
For the past four generations I bought all the big three consoles.
@cwhit122
I have 25 Sonos speakers throughout my home. I bought them about 6 years ago and they work really well so I don't have a need to replace them. They may not be the best today, but they have served me well and probably will for at least another 6 years. Yes they only work at 2.4 GHz Wifi...
The issue is that movies aren't subject to a console cycle. The innovations in movies are the way the story is told.
For console games it is not only innovation in telling the story, but also innovation in the technology used to play thru the story. There has been many ambitious games that show three to five years early, but by the time they ship all games are doing the same thing.
