So... 3 out of 5 of those games aren't actual mech games and no mention of Armored Core. Are we even trying anymore?
The review didn't say that 13 had intriguing plot and characters.
You mean where he said: "Every fan of the series will have a different opinion, but we don’t think many would argue that Final Fantasy XIII’s strongpoint was its intriguing plot and strong characters".
Sarcasm, meaning. Google it.
@_-EDMIX-_ Show me a turn based game that has gotten any real advertising. Most get none, whatsoever. And how many of those games are on the level of FF7,FF9, Chrono Trigger. Low TB sales are a self fulfilling prophecy by a very "play-it-safe" industry.
FFX-2 cause it gave us the best combat and one of the best job systems of the series. Could have lived without the way they dressed it up, pun intended, and I definitely would have loved it in an original setting and better story but it doesn't make the combat any less golden.
I got high hopes for this one. It actually has the potential to stand among the greats of the genre like DMC 3&4, Ninja Gaiden 1&2, etc.
The problem with casual games is that they don't give people anything to latch on to and the casual market is just that... casual. They are bound to move on to more fulfilling hobbies.
I knew before I clicked that it was a Spawn Wave video. I personally don't care if its as powerful as Xbone or not, I just want a system thats not a wannabe pc, and that has quality games that are more diverse in terms of genre and tone than what we are getting from ps4/xbone.
How about a AAA Fast Racing Neo or F-Zero.
Best combat system and one of the best job systems in the whole series. Too bad everything else was either a rehash or just terrible.
Is that all? Its not a racial slur unless you put an "er" at the end.
The modern industry plays to the lowest common denominator. For the most part, the only games that get made on a AAA standard are the most casual and accessible. When they do make something more on a hardcore/traditional level, they tend not to promote it and the whole bit about them not selling well becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.
@Livecustoms I heard that the ios controls weren't bad. I wouldn't know cause I'm still working with a flip phone. Personally, I would go through pS3(PS1 classic version), or Steam, cause I like controllers. You can also get FF Tactics on PS3. If you get FFX, understand that there is some annoying dialogue, still decent though. FFX-2 has the best combat and job system of the series but everything else about that game kinda sucks. FF7 is on PS4 but imo, the PS1 classic version on P...
Final Fantasy IX
@Asuka With all due respect, that is some brain washed bs. Not to mention, very easy to subvert if you don't actually connect your ps4 to the internet. According to first sale doctrine (the law here in the states), once a copyrighted work has been legally sold in tangible form (physical copy), the copyright owner no longer has any rights over the physical item. The game software is copyrighted, meaning buyers can't legally copy it and/or sell illegal copies.
Whats the point of gameplay and mechanics that couldn't carry a game all on their own.
They're not going to stop selling it until all produced units are out the door. Its more about when they're going to end support for it and when production will end. 2017 is the last year of scheduled releases listed. With the Switch coming just around the corner, they need every dev team on it. If they continue to support the 3DS, they jeopardize the future of the Switch.
@kitsune451 Its not so much killing the 3DS as it is not supporting it anymore. The 3DS sales are rapidly declining where the DS was in its peak at this point in its life and Nintendo can't financially rely on it anymore, not to mention that Nintendo needs every dev team working on Switch titles, otherwise they risk another Wii U launch scenario. If Nintendo doesn't move enough Switch units in the first year then most of the potential 3rd party support walks away and without strong 3D...
Those are not review scores from Metro. They gave TLoU a 9/10 and don't have reviews for FFX or FFVIII. Their score for FFX/X-2 remaster was 7/10.
