Its a feedback loop. More quality launch titles means more initial sales. More initial sales means more support in terms of games, be them 1st or 3rd party, which goes back into even more sales then more games support. Ultimately its all about getting more, quality games.

You gotta admit, if there was a worthy effort to support at full price, this was it. I understand what you're saying though. I bought it day 1 as well and all Ive done is mess around with snapmap and the first level of sp.

Theres nothing wrong with the Switch getting the typical yearly releases, don't get me wrong. I'm just worried that thats all the 3rd party support they're going to get. 3rd party exclusives are going to do more for the lifetime sales than games that can be played in slightly better quality on other systems. If the sales do well enough, the big pubs will be more inclined to make the gameplay centric games that are more fitting to the Nintendo player base which could bring a renais...

@brave27heart I have no clue what they have at launch yet, I was just saying (except for DQ11) that I know they have those games and they could potentially be system sellers if they have them ready at launch. The point of the post was that they need to come out first party strong... like, REALLY strong.

Also, I'm not a Nintendo fanboy. The only Nintendo system that I owned that I really liked was Gamecube and the only games I played on it were REmake/RE0 and Rogue Squa...

is there a roll/pitch/yaw control scheme? Does it have a super hard mode?

In terms of games it really needs to set itself apart from PS4/Xbone and it needs to have a good release schedule. My worst fear for this system is that it turns into another PS4/Xbone with just a couple of unique exclusives per year.

@FlyingFoxy
Power is not whats going to attract 3rd party support. If it moves the necessary units then the 3rd parties will line up and having more quality exclusives will move those units. if it ends up having all the 3rd party games that other systems have but only a few quality exclusives there isn't going to be much of a reason buy this over PS4 or Xbone. This system needs to be a breath of fresh air in terms of quality and unique games to be successful, thats it.

The 3DS has a strong player base.

Whats important here is whether or not the Switch has a strong launch line up. They've got new Zelda, Mario, and Mario Kart games, Possibly Dragon Quest 11 (a quality turn based jrpg, something you can't find on the other systems).

If I were them I'd have a new proper Metroid in the works for launch, either side scrolling and/or prime game and/or new 3rd person 3D Metroid like uncharted minus the heavy narrati...

Or they're nerfing the power while its undocked to control heat and power usage for the sake of battery life. Seems reasonable to me.

Nice snamap additions.

I am so sick of games with super graphics and cinematic focus where gameplay seems like it was an after thought in the development process. If the Switch can offer a diverse selection of quality, gameplay centric games then the graphical trade off is more than welcome. Ive had a PS4 for almost 2 years and Ive been bored with it for more than half that time. The only upcoming games that I'm excited for are Ace Combat 7, and the possibility of a new Armored Core game.

Those are aesthetic elements. I believe he was referring to actual gameplay elements.

Internet out in Brandon, Ms is pretty good. I seriously doubt that that is the problem that J. Sterling is having.

I adopted the practice of not buying most games until well after release so that most of the bugs are fixed and by the time I play it its actually in decent shape. This also gives me time to see if the game is everything its cracked up to be before I buy. There are exceptions like Doom and Aragami (really should have waited on Aragami, got stung by a few bugs on that one but great game otherwise) but for the most part this has allowed me to dodge quite a few bullets like NMS, The Order, and M...

Delays usually work in favor of a games quality. Even terrible games would have been worse if they had been released with more unfinished aspects.

Macross games are pretty decent. I loved Macross 30 like no other ps3 game. I may have to go ahead and get a pstv for this.

I feel ya but you gotta understand that that just means Gears just isn't our thing. They make these games for the people who actually like them and want to buy them for what they are, and there is nothing wrong with that.

This game is pretty decent. I have a few problems with it like the pre-canned death-from-above move and Ive only managed to get to mission 4 since release cause I S-rank before I move on and I it took me a minute to realize that restarting checkpoints kills your score (back up your save if you gotta have that S-rank). This game is a decent stealth challenge before you start gaining a bunch of skills and it doesn't punish you for killing.
