Shipped, not sold through. If a copy doesn't sell through within a certain time frame, SE buys it back from the retailer.
1080p 60fps. It looks weightier than any hovership racing game Ive ever seen. Can't say till Ive actually play it though. Never played Wipeout either. I look forward to that and Redout.
lol 8-bit. I don't think you know what 8-bit looks like. That game looks awesome.
I have neither a smart phone or wi-fi. Still getting a Switch but not for online play, apparently. This is really annoying.
Then theres Fast RMX coming to Switch in March.
Between Wipeout collection, Redout, and Fast Racing MX, I'd say the genre is going to be pretty well populated.
Its like Mario and a ragdoll had a kid. Looks terrible.
It being slightly under powered could actually work in its favor. If the graphics are cheaper and easier to produce, it could possibly shorten dev cycles and, to some extent, undermine the extreme risk aversion that is, IMO, breaking the AAA games market. We need a diverse gaming machine.
I don't think 3rd party AAA multiplats are going to sell many Switches. If thats your thing, chances are that you already own a PS4, Xbone, or a PC. For the Switch to make it, its going to need to emphasize 1st & 2nd party titles, and unique, exclusive third party titles. It really needs to set itself apart from whats already out there, otherwise it comes off like just another part of the crowd... the under powered part.
If you already have too many cooks in the ki...
I don't think anyone is going to buy 1, 2 Switch. A few parents may make that mistake but outside of that I don't *see it selling at all.
*EDIT
Formerly 3DS franchises on the Switch, I believe, will provide a massive advantage over Wii U. Then theres all the people, like myself, who will purchase the Switch as secondary source for Japanese games and certain Nintendo exclusives, then theres all the Nintendo diehards. I think a lot of people are severely underestimating the Switch's sales potential.
Sports games were actually interesting on the NES, SNES, & PS1 in their respective days. They've become so normalized now that its hard for non sports fans to give them a second glance. If the FIFA game is unique like the dude from EA said it was, it might do better. It just depends on how its unique. Never been a sports fan, myself, but I enjoyed Tecmo Bowl on NES & some hockey game on PS1 (if I remember correctly).
Looks like fun.
@wonderfulmonkeyman I feel ya. My cat just had hematoma surgery. Its a good thing I only had to pay $50 for my pre-order. I hope everything works out for you and the family.
@GamingSinceThe80s Never got a Wii U. I'm generally a Playstation guy, but I got the Switch pre-ordered. Fast RMX is supposed to drop in March though.
Been dying to try it out.
I'm waiting for the price to come down on physical copies cause I'm broke (just had to pay for cats surgery). I was going to get quite a few games over the next few months. Was actually looking forward to Sony shutting me up about lack of releases and bad games in general, and now this... oh, the irony.
I remember playing Sengoku on the Neo Geo at the local Super Kmart back in the 90s. I wouldn't mind owning that game.
I figured you would have pre-ordered the day pre-orders went live. It was pretty easy to find them at retail that first day... at least around here (Knoxville). Saturday? Not so much.
All that does is show how meaningless of a record that is.
