My bad I should have known better than to comment without reading the article.
That's great but it's got bugger all to do with PS4, Xbox or even Doom Eternal.
Hardly a surprise it seemed inevitable to me. Personally I'm not interested in playing Nintendo games full stop let alone remakes in Dreams and if it pushes people into creating their own stuff rather than copying something that's a good thing.
I tried Sims 4 when it was free with PS+ but it was crap compared to Sims 3 even on our old knackered laptop. How did it go backwards so much? I hope they get it back on track with the next game.
Somebody got a thesaurus for Christmas.
It means I'm probably going to buy it.
Aye I'd take one well developed character over the three from GTA5. I didn't like any of them but at least Trevor was entertaining even though he was too cartoonish.
I didn't feel swapping characters during a mission added much, it was ok at times and at others it was a pain.
I find it more satisfying to only have two or three games on the go at any one time and to only throw another into the mix when I'm finished with one of them. Saves me money because I don't buy many games at launch and it's good to actually finish something before moving on.
Because it's more of the same with minor improvements like a character creator, the first game was a 7 for me and I've little doubt this one would be too.
I'd forgotten it was an exclusive, that explains why people are freaking out about seeing criticism. I'm not hating on it, the combat is brilliant and it's a solid game but not one that grabbed me particularly.
Don't agree at all about level design, it's basic stuff and boring to look at, there's no atmosphere to it. Enemy designs are cool but apart from bosses there was a hell of a lot of repetition in the first game, I don't know if it's the same in the sequel.
If you could take the combat system from Nioh and put it into a game with an interesting story and well designed levels you'd have a hell of a game. The combat is brilliant but everything else is meh so 7/10 is right for me.
People do want something new but it's also got to be good. The difficulty of Dark Souls was new (at least to people not familiar with old school gaming) but if it wasn't fun to play it would never have taken off. Weird for the sake of weird doesn't work well in gaming.
I guess restoration gets added to the lexicon alongside remake, remaster and reimagining, to confuse gamers and journalists alike.
If the media reporting saves one person's life it's worth it. The reality is it'll be a lot more than that.
These are the guys who made Sundered, a talented (and versatile) bunch.
You'd like to think they're aiming at making it a trilogy, I don't mind the game being broken up at all as long as character progression etc is carried over but it'd be a bit much if we had to buy five or six full price games just to experience a FF7 remake.
I'd rather they reined in the ambition than that happened.
Ditch PVP and make a fully fledged online co-op Fallout with a full story mode and a world packed with interesting quests and characters and you're onto a winner. I'm surprised that's not what they did with 76 but hey ho.
The scripting that football games have had since AI was good enough to accommodate it, which was some time ago. I don't think it's anything I know what it is.
@yellowgerbil
I didn't like the second series of Westworld but it certainly wasn't terrible and neither was the last series of Thrones although that's the popular line for people who like to overexaggerate.
Watchmen was good fun and critically acclaimed so again far from terrible.
As soon as a game becomes a chore it's time to take a break from it, there's nothing wrong with aiming to 100% something but you'll enjoy it a lot more if you don't try to do it all in one go.
