I don't think you're cut out for the life of a space villain, neither am I for that matter. Poor fella minding his own business on an alien planet and getting capped in the back of the head, kind of funny though.
You can see potential for it though if players started forming groups. Dunno if the servers and framework of the game could handle it but there's an appeal to organised star wars over resources and power, the stories that could arise from it would be f...
It's always a shame when something with such a strong concept and visual flair to burn is crippled by bad gameplay.
Ironically given its inspiration it looks soulless but on the other hand it looks mechanically solid enough to be worth a go. Maybe the character of the game unfolds gradually as you play it and it just doesn't come across well in short videos.
Pretty nuts to write a whole rage article because Murray offhand mentioned it'd be cool to have farms in the game. Clearly Murray has descended into evil.
Three great calls. If I could only pick one it'd be SSX. I'm not that bothered about online games but I'm sure it'd be a success in that regard.
Not sure what everyone's disagreeing with. Did I not like it? Did it not have an emotional effect on me?
Gone Home was a really special game, one of the first I'd played like it and I soaked up every detail with fascination. Didn't make me cry although that's not to say it didn't have an effect on me because it did, one of those that after it's finished you just stare at the title screen in silence for a minute.
I think that's exactly it, Sean wanted the focus to be on exploration and combat was way down on the list. There is something admirable about that but to take the game to the next level it does need it.
Like you say the potential is through the roof. Like it or not though Sean if you do want your game to truly reach its potential then a fully realised combat system is the way to go and not mining and base building. Which would still be relevant, go out all day with you...
Cool article and great photos, I especially like the side on pic of the yellow ship in the article header. As cool as the game is just to explore in, if they could somehow add in the solid gameplay and progression of a top tier shooter/RPG with the planetary exploration as it currently is, you'd hardly need to play any other game.
So much has changed since I last played it that I'll start a new game and have a look at all the new stuff with fresh eyes.
Considering that the independent investigation found them innocent of intentionally misleading consumers and for the two years after release they've worked non stop on putting out major free updates, for me yes they redeemed themselves some time ago.
Hadn't heard of that before you mentioned it but yeah that's pretty much bang on what I was picturing. Not sure if it'll ever be released though but I don't think that's because the concept isn't sound.
Not really sure what they mean by this exactly but a zombie game set in medieval times could be cool.
I'm not sure I like the idea of it but I believe VR is the future of home entertainment and won't be going anywhere.
I was under the impression that 100% of the game is online and it doesn't have an offline SP story mode. It also sounds like there will be a fair bit of content designed for co-op play that you'll struggle to/won't enjoy completing on your own.
This update looks pretty major and a step up into a bigger league. I wasn't particularly impressed with the PoE but they've raised their game for this one big time.
Racing games are alright but it's the variation in the tracks and car classes that keeps them fresh. Steering left around an oval track over and over again? You've got to be kidding.
Nearly impossible to aim accurately without aim assist on using a controller? Ha. Not for me.
I think they got more generous with the save points the more games they released and usually with practice you can sprint past all the enemies to get to the boss, but yeah those times that it was a mission just to get to the boss from the save point were painful and not fun.
I wish Konami would rob a bank or something so they could afford all the licenses. I can and do upload all the option files but even so the slight lack of authenticity does hurt it.
