Actually, it's not up to you to decide if a game deserves a perfect score. It's up to the reviewer whose review you're reading. If they felt it deserved a 10 then I'm pretty sure that's how they felt. Mind you, nearly every critic on the planet has said that a 10 doesn't mean a game is perfect and that no game is perfect. It's just the highest praise one can give a game. No 4 star movie is perfect but the sum of the parts equals a 4 star whole.

Considering that this review is based solely on the single player game that the reviewer played through a month ago, and they didn't play the online portion AND the fact that the online portion feels entirely tacked on...Do you really think they should factor that in?

First of all, both games were reviewed by different people. Different people, differnt opinions, different score. It's not a hard concept to grasp.

The Splinter Cell series is by far the best pure stealth series on the market...It's a great real world alternative to vampires, floating psychics, fat men on roller blades and ridiculously pretentious stories...And this is coming from a huge Metal Gear fan.
I prefer the gameplay of the series to any of the Metal Gears and I still love Metal Gear. The point of this is to stave off comments of "fanboy" and so on.

The sad fact is that unless you can make a game with a MP portion as good/respected as Halo 3, Call of Duty 4, GTA IV, or Gears of War, not many people are going to give a poop.
Personally I can't stand Halo 3 or Gears of Wars MP so I'm all about the single player campaign...But, these games offer co-op which I think is not only a lot of fun, but it actually helps you enjoy the game more.
