This guy deserves his first amendment rights taken away because he thinks WOW is garbage? Oh man, the irony.

"Still wanna pay more? You could have gotten a PS3 instead. Or hell, at least 5 more games for your 360. "

Wow, you're really dumb...Thank God you only represent a fraction of PS3 owners.

If they added unlimited respawns to Attack and Defend, then I'd be interested in picking the game up again.

Nope...Some douche that writes for a magazine about weed is still the king.

I can't think of anyone's opinion on ANYTHING I could care less about.

Metal Gear is a much better, overall, game than Gears of War...BUT...

I just want to point out ONE small fact....Gears of War has sold more than any Metal Gear has. Cliffy B has nothing to be jealous of. His game score extremely high as well and sold more than any single episode of Metal Gear.

Finally a voice of reason and understanding. Bravo, Silver360.

If anything, as much as love my PS3, Sony has been screwing not only the customers but the retailers. Because of a lack of confidence in any one scu, they've discontinued models that customers bought warranties for. So now, they're forced to downgrade, or take a refurbished one because, for example, no new 60 gigs are available for replacement.

I've had to deal with some very unhappy people due to this an...

Oh my God...

Read this slowly, so it sinks in:

It is possible that people do not like this game.

Why is everyone who doesn't like it part of an XBOX conspiracy? It's to the point where I'm ALMOST embarrassed to not only own a PS3 but be a fan of this game. This game is most certainly not for everyone. And yes, the story is great from a Metal Gear standpoint but to an outsider, it's rather absurd. This, believe it or not, may be a bone of contention for ...

You get what you pay for.

So now we're trying to figure out how many people read the reviews? Come on now. So what if someone didn't like the game. Nearly everyone in this thread did, and we disagree, but that doesn't mean that someone else isn't allowed to like it.

Obviously MS owning the engine wouldn't stop people from licensing it and I doubt MS would stop developers from using it. It's BUSINESS, not a petty kid taking his ball and going home.

6596d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

That's not true at all. So I guess Sony isn't going to allow Bluray on the nextBox and or, I almost snicker when I say it, a future Nintendo console? They most certainly would allow it because the Unreal engine is the most popular engine in gaming right now. And until something comes along that's better or more wanted, they will allow it. It's all about the money. If MS buys EPIC, which they should, they know exactly what they're getting and how much revenue that would bring in.

@bullettooth

I'd like to agree with you but the fact that MGS4 is one of the best and most next gen games out (I consider GTA IV to be much the same in terms of scope and next gen) and cost a sh!tload of money (as did GTA IV) makes it hard to.

No one has come close to matching those games this gen. And certainly not on PS3. Not even Insomniac. Are both of their games good? Absolutely, but nothing at all compared to MGS4.

@znu

I don't think anyone thought a game like MGS4 was impossible. At all. It might inspire a studio in the way that they want a game that epic, but nothing MGS4 did seemed like it was impossible to achieve. And again, MGS4 had TONS of money pumped into it. That's what he meant when he said "resources". A studio doesn't want to sink a bunch of money into ONE platform when they can do what they need to on another for less.

The revenue streams wouldn't dry up because Epic licenses out the Unreal engine, they don't develop the games that use it. They can still license it out, it's just that MS would get a cut.

Do you have any reports of how much MS expected Mass Effect to sell? I'm curious to see if the company is unhappy with selling almost 2 million copies of an upstart IP RPG, with no multiplayer.

I do think MS made some huge mistakes allowing these studios to be free to make games for the other systems, but buying Epic would be a coup...Yes, people might leave, but as stated, they would own the Unreal engine which is the most used game engine.

@LordXenu

I'm not saying Halo was a system seller. So not really sure why you would bring that up.

But for argument's sake...In the month directly following Halo's release, 360 sold over a million units. And in the week after Halo's release it sold almost half a million units. And let's not forget that this is essentially 2 markets because they have barely sold that many units in Japan since it's release. So it's likely those numbers can be directly related to Halo 3...

Uhm....What?

6597d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

143% isn't much. The initial shipment was around 70,000 units. Selling 70,000 units in one week adding up to 143% means it wasn't selling much. The game is amazing, but reality is, this isn't the system seller Sony wanted or needed. Of course people will buy the system to play the game and to that end, it is literally a system seller.

You may get SOME kills without skill but to do really well, it absolutely requires skill. If you die a lot, it's because you suck at the game. It's really that simple.
